Picked up my Race Red GT a few weeks ago and I'm loving it. I'm already planning on adding aftermarket rims/tires that look closer to OEM GT Premium rims.

Where I need help is the racing stripes. I'm torn on thickness: the thicker GT350 style versus the thinner S650 style. Haven't seen many S650s with the thicker GT350 stripes, and I think the S650 works better with the thinner ones.

I attached my car, plus an S550 and S650 with racing stripes. Curious to hear your general thoughts on stripes with an S650, and if you're pro-stripe, whether you lean thinner or thicker.

Thanks guys.

Beautiful car. I'd leave it, but that's just me. I was in a line of slow cars on a two lane, in my pickup this week. A blue S650 with wide black stripes went screaming by passing the whole line. I'm not a huge stripes fan, but I admit it looked really good. All I saw was the rear though. On the above pics, I don't like the white border on the S650 and would prefer the stripes continuing down the front fascia.

You're Welcome :fistbump: to stay with us. But this is a 6G site. www.mustang7g.com is dedicated to 2024s and later.

You show two sets of stripes. I prefer the black stripe with the adjacent white or silver pin stripe. I feel it shows better, the white/silver tying in with the 5.0 and pony badging. The thinner or skinny set.

I only like stripes if they are painted on.

I hate stickers on these cars, and they look terrible after a few years.

I had stripes on my GT and promptly removed them. The body has a lot of contours and styling that IMO don't need to be accentuated by vinyl stickers.

I’m a fan of stripes typically. However, I actually prefer S650’s without them. But, the rear is like a sea of red with nothing to really break it up. Maybe a black spoiler to add some contrast? Or a black taillight panel?

If I was going to do stripes on my car id look for a color or a design you dont see much black and red is just to common for my taste. Im not saying they dont look good because they definitely do i just like something different personally. I also have a race red mustang and 1 color I was considering was blue stripes. Just my 2 cents best of luck

Taste is subjective for sure. Having struggled with stripe questions myself, I like the stock stripes on the S650s and actually considered doing something similar on mine. Ended up with the widest and highest contrast stripes I could find to break up a sea of dark gray.

In the process however, I also considered the Steeda "Q" type treatment and thought it looked pretty good as well for just the hood, roof, and trunk. (Steeda's pic I think)

On a red car, I think a gunmetal (with gunmetal wheels) or white treatment would look sick. And for width, I'd go as wide as the hood vent. I'd also go from front splitter to rear splitter with the stripes.

In the end, it's your car though so pick what you like and tell everyone else to pound sand.
