It took a while but finally I located the CAT Scale Ticket for JR157.

Very nice. That’s your 2016-2018 base 350R?

Seems that’s where the weight savings really come in, is all those deletions. As a 2019-2020 Base R still has creature comforts per se and comes in around 3,710 lbs per your weigh in. A 2015-2018R with the electronics package which as you know adds back those standard features on the 2019-2020R comes in right around 3,718 lbs per C&D.

You know to round out that S197 talk, what’s crazy is the Dark Horse HP is 4,000+ lbs.

Thought I would add this in as well. Since we know the lightest-spec’d M1 HP is 3,811 lbs from C&D, I was able to find the lightest-spec’d 2019–2020 four-seat GT350 non-R listed at 3,791 lbs by CJ Pony Parts. That suggests roughly a 20 lb difference in base form, which is consistent with the fully equipped cars also being separated by only about 30 lbs.

Yes, that scale ticket is for my 2018 GT350 Base R namely JR157.

Not sure if you are aware that the 2015-2018 Base R models came with 16 delete items with the most significant weight savings from those 16 items coming from the deletion of the AC, radio/speakers, sound deadener, tire inflator kit, trunk liner and trunk tray.

Other items such as no floor mats, GPS roof antenna, navigation, back up camera, sync, USB ports, etc. are obviously less significant.

Some pictures of HR019 which I did not weigh but suggest the same curb weight as my other Base R models.

PP0001 base is 60lbs lighter than mine. I'm guessing it is: Jacking rails, inflation kit, tools, 325 Hankooks in the rear, Bluetooth amplifier w speakers. 🤷‍♂️

It all adds up.

Yes, that’s what I was getting at when mentioning “all those deletions”. Thank you for sharing Harry, that’s a really cool machine. The R truly stands on its own across all years, but especially in its 16-18 base form.

I've been debating putting jacking rails on my base gt350r... But I'm wrestling with it... Ford was pretty extreme to pull as much weight as they could out of the base GT350R.
But preservation is more important than adding ~13 pounds to the bottom of the car imo. I don't want messed up jacking points.

Us GT350R base owners are a small, but proud part of the community! The base stands alone!
It is entertaining to try and explain to the average person that the base GT350R is more desirable than the tech models... haha. My mother-in-law was expecting big screens and lots of technology for the price paid.

I’m going to take my ‘18 350 w/electronics and Recaros to our local CAT scale in the next couple of weeks. Also gonna bring my son with his ‘17 ZL-1. His should be high 3800s, which is great for a fully loaded weapon w/LT4/Tremec and GT350 beating track times. Gotta love that Alpha platform. Looking at you 4200lb s550 GT500 🤔

Mine will be very slightly lighter than stock because the 305/30 square Conti ECSport 02s are 3lbs/each lighter than OEM Pilot SS and my GiroDisc rotors at 4 corners are another 2.5-3lb/each lighter than OEM rotors.

My car came with jacking rails. But I have a 4 post lift with a rolling jack with pads. So it's damage free. The purist in me wanted them gone.

I love my rails, but understand the weight adding aspect of them as well. I mostly have them so there’s no whoopsies at discount tire or the dealer.

I have these on my car. Less than 7lbs for the set. I did PPF them to provide another layer of protection since they’re aluminum and the undercarriage is steel. The powder coat should provide a sufficient barrier to prevent galvanic corrosion, but I did the PPF just in case. Particularly because my car is a daily driver and sees salt in winter

Tony, with respect to the 60-pound curb weight difference between our 2 Base R models, I would like to provide the following comments.

In 2019 I was living in Florence, Arizona and after work on a Friday night I decided that I would head to the closest CAT scale to me which was in Chandler, Arizona in order to scale JR157.

Got up on Saturday morning and made sure that the glove compartment, center console and trunk were completely empty and headed to a local gas station in Florence to fill up with gas.

With me heading to Chandler to weigh my car I purposely overfilled my gas tank thinking that an additional gallon of gas would get me to the Love's Truck Stop in Chandler.

My trip to Love's Truck Stop using I-10 from Florence was a little further than I thought and ended up being ~40 miles therefore suggest that even when overfilling my gas tank in Florence I may have been 1 gallon short of being totally full when I scaled JR157?

Love's Truck Stop had a platform scale therefore paid to have it weighed in both directions and wanted to see if that made any difference but it did not as both scale tickets showed 3,620#.

Based on the above and the fact that my vehicle was bone stock empty and possibly 1 gallon of gas short along with your vehicle having numerous additional items in your car at the time of weighing it, I suggest that explains pretty much what took place with respect to our weight differences?

On another note and @Mach 307 and not to sabotage your cool thread, while in Australia in 2025 a fellow Mustang buddy of mine invited me to drive his Mustang to an event called the 2025 Pony Stomp in Albion Park, NSW and took place on April 6th.

During some discussions at the event a young Mustang enthusiast approached me and asked if I liked GT350R models and of course said yes after which time he showed me some pictures that he took at a previous event of a 2016 GT350R in Shadow Black along with no OTT stripes.

Have attached some pictures of that all stock SB 2016 GT350R that still retains its left-hand drive steering wheel and one never knows what we may come across in different parts of the world!

Exactly 140 lbs less on each axle when compared to Mach 307's ride...
