Based on my experience after driving various Porsche models, I would consider the PDK a more refined and better transmission especially when it comes to daily driving and in particular smoother downshifts.
Well Porsche probably has a head start of the development of the PDK system since they been using it in their race cars.back in 1980s

I'm just a lowly PP1 owner. Ive never driven either of those cars. I own an Auto. From the outside looking in, a blind man can see the 350 is going to be more "Fun" to drive. You're literally shifting gears. It's not to say the Auto isn't fun. Its just never going to be as engaging as a manual. I remember when I first got into HP you had to choose top end or takeoff. With the Auto vs Manual, it's fast or fun. It's a matter of choice. In my humble opinion the 500 is not a upgrade to the 350. They are different animals. A Polar Bear isn't a Grizzly Bear although they're both Bears. The 350R could be considered an upgrade to the 350. The CFTP could be considered an upgrade to the 500. Just my 2 cents.

I'd be willing to bet that a few years from now, the best examples of GT350R will be more valuable than any S550 GT500.
I'd Take that bet. A golden ticket CFTP 2022 HE GT500 is going to be worth more than any GT350R

Voted yes, putting 500's back in front.

I have owned two GT350s and now a GT500 and would take the 500 if I had to only choose one. (Which I have to as my wife said I can only have two and I love my 65)

People claiming the auto is boring are just proving they have not driven a DCT GT500 for any length of time. Nor do they drive in a congested city like I do and have to sit in stop and go traffic from time to time.

Also, I frequent the car shows regularly with both my cars and my GT500 grabs more attention than my GT350s ever could. Most the time there are several Gt350s and I am only GT500 owner.

Hell, I live in TX and just having the auto start so my AC can kick in before I go out to my car is an upgrade to me. lol

@Headless Horseman there are no lowly S550 owners. Get your vote in for the GT350 on the first page. The GT500s are pulling ahead.

@Tw00sh The 2020 Heritage 350R is so far leading the $$ pack in resale values. But yea, the CFTP Heritage is up there too. Time will tell.

I never have understood the reasoning of wanting a manual transmission, but not wanting to drive a car with a manual in stop and go traffic. If you are just cruising down the highway, there's no difference between a manual and an automatic.

The manual gives the most joy in stop and go traffic. I buy manuals because I have some stop and go in my commute and I want to play. I don't want to be a robot brakegasbrakegas in an automatic in stop and go traffic. That is exactly the situation where I start hating my life and feeling like my soul is dying. Stop and go traffic with an automatic transmission is the worst ever.

I do not know anyone that would agree with this statement lol

So you find enjoyment out of clutching every 10-20 seconds and sitting in 1st gear the entire time? Really? My leg sure would disagree after 30-45 minutes.

I was thinking the same exact thing. I’ve owned a lot of manual car and the last place I ever found enjoyment with them was in stop and go traffic…

I drove a manual into Manhattan once, thought my left leg was going to go full on seizure cramp lol

My stop and go traffic is more like a couple minutes most of the time, but if you have decent gearing you can creep pretty slowly in first. Modern clutches are pretty light. Maybe you've skipped too many leg days.

Once or twice a year there might be a really bad snow storm and then it could be 30 minutes of stop and go on my way home. I don't like those days, but it doesn't change my preference for driving a manual.

Sure. You like a manual transmission car, but you don't like shifting. Totally makes sense. :like:

This has to be satire right? You aren’t shifting anything but from neutral to first and then first back to neutral in stop and go. I live in Southern California we have real stop and go traffic and I can attest it sucks. I own manual cars to drive them on fun spirited roads, not clutch in and clutch out constantly going 10ph

It sure is, it's a better car in every aspect. Opinion on manual vs auto is irrelevant.

I think it's fun to briefly nail it in first gear and then let engine braking slow the car. Ever do that in bumper to bumper traffic?

Yes I get joy in stop and go in a manual transmission car. It doesn't bother me to push in the clutch. I have no idea why it would. I like that there's more to it than brakegasbrakegas. If I'm not playing around the things I have to do are nearly automatic like walking or breathing. I don't get annoyed when I'm walking by lifting my foot and putting it back down. It's just part of the process.

I remember years ago driving Fox Mustangs with the cable clutch in hot weather and the clutch would get heavy. I learned to use the clutch as an in-out device many years ago. I never hold it down for any length of time.

I'm jealous you live in SoCal, but it sounds like your traffic is terrible. I guess that's a big benefit of being in flyover territory. I commute all the way across the downtown area of the capital and average 50-60 mph during rush hour.
