Getting ready for c&c tomorrow. This stuff is impressive. Slickness and gloss are both outstanding.

Did a decon wash on the Explorer with ADS Decon Soap. Next weekend will be coating time for the Explorer. Will do a regular wash, then polish then ADS Quartz Pro. I have some wheel coating left as well, enough to do the wheel faces. Tires will get Ghost.

What wheel barrell brush do you recommend for gloss back wheels? I tried to Woolly, but it doesn't really fit in some parts of my PP1 wheels.

I've been wanting to try one of these, I here they are pretty good. They combine the EZ-Detail-style brush with a microfiber style -

That one looks like it has promise, Deyon. Haven't tried Mark's favorite yet, still stuck in mandatory water conservation mode.
I don't normally endorse Facebook/social media products, but from what I have seen and heard, this might be the exception.

The Ranger got its weekly wash today.

At the moment, I'm in a use-up-what-I have mode, running through products that didn't make the cut. That doesn't mean all of these products are duds, just that they didn't win me over to find a permanent spot in the cabinet. Today's product was Koch Chemie Nano Magic Shampoo.

Nano Magic is basically a wash-n-wax.

"Koch Chemie Nano Magic Shampoo is a pH neutral, protective car wash shampoo that cleans while leaving behind a hydrophobic nano-layer for up to two weeks of gloss and protection".

Oddly, the product description states "pH neutral", but the bottles say pH 5.5. If I had one piece of advice to Koch Chemie for it's English-speaking markets, go through and fix your product descriptions. There is far too much contradictory information, poor German translation, and inconsistent formatting.

Nano Magic isn't a great soap. It's doesn't foam, although to be fair, very few products like this do. The suds are nothing to rave about either. It also lacks slickness and cleaning ability. Meanwhile, the water behavior, gloss and slickness metrics are well behind Koch Chemie's latest Ceramic Effect Shampoo.

So, finishing off the bottle today was a bit of an achievement.

On the flipside, I quite like Koch Chemie Quick Shine. This is basically an old-fashioned detail spray/quick detailer. Considering I used a soap with "protection", I went with a non-protective drying aid.

Another two bite the dust..................

IMG-1246.jpg

The Undressed was my second gallon of the product. As a heavy-duty tyre cleaner, it does the job — it's just a shame it doesn't lather the way Brake Buster does, because that's the only thing stopping it from being perfect. So I won't be getting a third gallon, but I already know exactly what will replace it.

That gallon of Paint Gloss has been sitting since December 2021. I'm genuinely torn — I love using it and the scent is addictive. But I almost never reach for it. Five years of taking up shelf space kind of answers the question for me.

Traditional quick detail sprays like Paint Gloss still have a place, but the roles I'd assigned it have quietly been filled by better products. For clay lube, a rinse-less wash or a dilutable option from Gyeon or Carpro is much better value. As a mild interior detailer, ONR does it better. For spot cleaning, something like ECHO2 or Adapt is safer and more effective. And as a drying aid, ADS Amplify does everything Paint Gloss does — just quicker and easier. In a way, I've already replaced it.

Here we go. About 3/4 done polishing. Did a quick wash this morning, car wasn’t very dirty. Sonax Perfect Finish with the Rupes waffle pads. ADS Panel Prep to follow then ADS Quartz Pro 2.0. Y’all get to see my ugly mug too🤣

Alrighty, she’s done. I must say, Rapid Red is such a stunning color. Almost regert not getting my Mustang in RR instead of GBM. Almost, still love my GBM.

ADS Quartz Pro is very easy to work with. Started sweating for the wipe down after about 25 seconds, pretty close to their 30 second timeframe in the instructions (ambient temps outside were about 83F so that probably sped it up a bit). I bought the 50ml bottle so I could do all the trim, door jambs, etc. I’ve got maybe 5-10ml left, so if you have a big truck or SUV, 50ml is the way to go IMO. I probably laid it on a little thicker too.

I will follow up with a layer of Amplify later tonight when the 4 hour wait time is up, as suggested by ADS.

Rapid Red is the best color lol. I used an entire 50ml bottle on my F-150 so you’re right about that!

It’s definitely a cool color. Glad I talked my wife into it. She wanted Carbonized Gray but would’ve had to order it because the dealers I prefer to deal with didn’t have any in stock or on the way. Lots of Vapor Blue, Black and White at the time though.
