I was looking at the FP 4.09 but then saw Yukon has 4.11 and 4.56 I feel like they would be better for the 2018+. I loved the 4.10 with my old 3650 for a daily, but I feel like for the longer 1-4 I may want a 4.30+ but when using 5/6 they may seem to steep for daily driving.

Anyone have any feed back? I feel like something like a 4.2X would be best compromise for a daily driven car, but it seems to be 4.09/4.11, 4.30 or 4.56.

I asked in the transmission/rear section below but got no replies.

Is anyone running the FP 4.09 or Yukon 4.11's? If so whats your opinion of them?

Old info, but had 411 on my 70 gto.great for drag racing, but for highway driving, revs too high, and local had to keep shifting,so put in 370s,good compromise.

How does this relate to a modern double overdrive 6-speed? Even 4.09s in a 15-17 Mustang single overdrive MT82 doesn't relate to 4.09s in a 18+ double overdrive MT82D4.

Schwerin, the FP and Yukon geard are both high quality parts. The difference is going to be in the quality of the install work.

4.09 puts the gearing quite close to the 15-17 MT82 with 3.73. Would highly recommend.

Zinc03svt approved for 18 plus manuals. 4.30 would be better plus a sticky tire. ;).

Even if ford performance still made the 4.30's, they wont fit the super 8.8 that all S-550's mustangs have.

I've got a 17 with 3.73, and sometimes I think it would be better with 3.55s. 1st gear is so short. I guess 3.90 if that fits or 3.73 would be best in the 18+ 6MT. Just a thought. I do love the gearing once your above 40 mph though. 3rd gear is where it's at!!

Does Ford Performance have plans to offer a 4.09 or 4.56 rear gear pumpkin to make installation easier for a 2020 Mustang ?

I put 4.09 gears in my 18 GT and needless to say loved them! Brings the car to life since Ford decided to make the the transmission gears longer. 3rd became a beast and gas mileage was still decent and 70 mph rpms not bad either. Have some videos on youtube user name dunnigan66

I went from 3.31 to 3.73 and at no point have I thought they're too short. You can take off in 2nd very easily.

I have FP 4.09’s and love them. Agree with the earlier post that 3rd is really the gear that wakes up. Was originally wishing for 4.30’s but now having these 4.09’s I wouldn’t swap them for 4.30’s even if it was zero cost because of the ratios of the factory 6 speed. I only use 1st if I’m starting on a hill or need to get out quick, and 6th is comfortable for cruising at 50-55 mph on flat roads. Side note - my gear installer said these were some of the highest quality gears he’s ever seen.
