I put 4.09 gears in my 18 GT and needless to say loved them! Brings the car to life since Ford decided to make the the transmission gears longer. 3rd became a beast and gas mileage was still decent and 70 mph rpms not bad either. Have some videos on youtube user name dunnigan66

I'm getting ready for the 4.09, what's your highway mpg/cruising speed look like?

I was messing around with a gearing calculator the other day and decided to compare the MT82-D4 with different rear gear ratios to the A10 with stock gears (3.55's) to see what ratios matched up the closest. I figured if the A10 was able to hook with that combination of transmission ratio and rear gear than the manual would too albeit with slower shifting speed between gears.

Looks like the MT82-D4 with 4.88's align the closest to the A10 with 3.55's. Running 4.88's with the manual you end up at 2700RPM at 75mph in 6th gear which isn't terrible for highway travel either.
