Could be adjustment. My brake handle requires a good amount of pull to engage the first click.
My STX has an electronic emergency brake. Would have been nice if Ford used it in perhaps the Premium GT's

That would suck for drifters or snow fun. :-)

I'm 6'3" also and over 300 and I have the same issue in my 17. If ford would have kept the handle towards the passenger side like they were on the fox body mustangs this would be a non issue. But they decided to put it as far left as possible.

Same problem at 6'4. I've searched and was surprised that I couldn't find any aftermarket handles that weren't just cosmetic changes to the stock one. I'd love to have something a bit shorter that sits tighter to the console since there's plenty of room there.

Same thing happens to me occasionally. Its especially annoying on the highway because it shuts off the acc.

I am 5'-9 and hit my head sometimes getting in and out of the front seats. I guess being 6'-4 you guys may have some issue's with space.

@Schwerin your brake handle is loose as a goose compared to mine. My lever requires enough pull that I thought it maybe too tight. I can only get it to the first click. Oh and try using engine braking then throttle to initiate the drift/slide keeping both hands on the steering wheel.

6'8", 360 pound linebacker build. My thigh hits the brake all the time. I'm always checking to make sure it doesn't get hung on my wallet or phone, both of which I keep in my right front pocket.

A lot of these issues may be able to fix at the adjustment point under the car. My E-break handle had a lot of slop in it a while back, so much so that I-10 through Beaumont TX on sport line springs would bounce enough in the construction zone that it would turn the cruise control off. So i jacked it up and adjusted the cable and the issue wen away. I am 6'2" 255 and can understand how a leg/thigh might hit the lever.

Not a problem for us RHD cars - the brake is in the same place so we need to get the passenger to operate it for us !

Never use mine as I have an auto - unless a very steep hill or on a ferry

I thought these were self adjusting and just needed to pull the handle back as far as possible a few times and let the ratcheting mechanism tighten itself.
