Sounds like for control module software updates, not related to the Sync software. I read the C8 Vette will do ECU updates over the air. Could be a way for manufacturers to over-ride any ECU changes made by aftermarket tuners.

^^^ It's increasing info technology like this that can actually become a driving distraction. I hardly use my lowly Sync 2 as it is.

Yeah, there's a totally disingenuous image that circulates that numbers like 20-25 switches in some more traditional interior, might even be a Porsche, then shows a Tesla, with like 4-5 driver interface points numbered.

What they __don't__ show, is that the one big interface point on the touch screen has like it's own 20+ interaction elements, but they're nested into multiple menus, out of the drivers normal FOV, and don't have any kind of haptic feedback, so you HAVE to look at small icons, in the middle of the console stack.
