The 777 and the Ikon are the same. Fitment around the headlight could have been better on mine...the bumper was barely holding on to one of the headlight tabs.
Thanks. This only applies when you replace the fuel pump. I didn't replace the pump; only used a BAP. I believe the newer DW400's have the check valve now, too.
Sort of lol.
The engine was smoke tested multiple times and the only leakage was around the Whipple TB set screw. Got a new TB and there was no change.
The tuner made a few adjustments that finally seemed to settle it out. I would say 85% there.
I did read in another thread where intake...
I'm supercharged with catless longtubes and Ford Performance active exhaust and I'm quieter than most of the guys with no supercharger and just catback systems.
The difference? A Borla resonator; you can quiet down longtubes without going back to stock.
Was thinking - looks like you tried blocking off the right side of the opening and leaving the left side straight through, which I think is the main problem. You want the air to go in and take a 90 degree turn. Wonder if you tried blocking off the left side and keeping 20%(ish) open on the...
So this popped up in my feed and I'm glad it did. I've been battling a low speed surge and startup/idle issues with my 3.0 whipple and had numerous tune updates to try to address it. My MAF readings were all over the place and surprisingly no one ever suggested that it could be my grille.
In...
Sure. Its 3/4" HDPE. I bought it on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Marine-Board-Hdpe-Polyethylene-Plastic-Sheet-3-4-0-750-Thick-Textured-/143353709199
To make them, I used a track saw to cut the hdpe at a slight taper (I don't recall exactly what it was but it was probably 1/4" to 5/8"...
Thanks man. Appreciate the thought you are putting into this. I tried messing with the TP2 voltage more on the throttle body. No luck there. Also got a new tune from the tuner and that made no difference either.
I did pay attention to the vacuum and it was around 21.7.
In regard to your...
Thanks for the reply and suggestions. I will take some more logs with LTFT in them and try the tests you mentioned above. I did note today that my LTFT were 0 on the ngauge during startup and idle (closed loop).
My vacuum at idle is a little over 21hg. I will compare cold to warm.
I did a...
Yes, I was watching the LTFT during open loop and then when it went into closed loop. Showed 0 the whole time.
MAF shows up tomorrow. Will see what happens then go from there.
Yeah I'm using the VMP IAT sensor kit that goes into the back of the Whipple (post intercooler).
I can run it by the tuner and make sure they are accounting for it. Thanks for the heads up.
Smoke tested the car today. Found one leak at the TB set screw (see video: ). Got excited and thought I had figured it out. Sealed that set screw with some tape and no change. There are absolutely no other leaks. Pumped a ton of smoke in there.
LTFT's are 0 during startup and idle.
Did a...
Thanks. Ill add the LTFT to the logs and grab one tomorrow.
When you say the MAF is scaled wrong, is that something that is set via the tune tables, or is it a hardware issue?
No, I'm not sure. Assuming the tuner would need to provide that info to me right?
I've tried a few more things too:
propane test for vacuum leaks everywhere - no change in idle
plugged off the ports for the brake booster and purge valve to eliminate those as potential vacuum leaks- no change...
Got it. I do know that when I first told the tuner about this they said sometimes it needs more "air" at startup, so that's what they did. Not sure if that means that he's opening up the tb more or what.
Could that be an alternative reason its running lean an startup?
