Hi- New to the forum after just purchasing a 2019 Kona Blue GT350. I apologize in advance if this is covered somewhere, but after digging through this forum and YouTube, I cannot find instructions or a video on simply removing the quad tips from the rear valance. I’d like to just remove the tips to get them powder coated black. The videos I was able to find are removing the whole exhaust or the entire bumper or valance .

I’d greatly appreciate any help or links to how I can just remove the tips. Thank you!

They are welded all the way to the header outlet. If you install a h-pipe you could get shorter pieces but besides that there is not a good way.

Those quad tips in the rear valance are in no way connected to the exhaust system. They are just there for looks. The exhaust ends after the mufflers just before the tips. You will see an air gap if you look closely.
I have not tried to remove them, but they appear to be bolted to the rear valance. You might have to remove it to find out. Its actually not very difficult. I removed mine once to install a tow hook.

I've painted mine. I can't quite remember all that was needed, but it was quite the affair. Took a couple of hours. Will need to remove the whole valence. There are some screws on each end of it (near the mufflers) and I believe the rest is just held in by taps. You'll need to pull really hard and it's a bit nerve wracking.

Here's a pick of the tips themselves. Couple bolts and 1 rivet that will need to be drilled out and replaced during reassembly.

Did mine last winter!! You have to remove the bumper cover. The tips are mounted from the back side to the rear bumper cover

Great info!

When you did the work in yours, did you also remove the entire rear bumper cover OR did you find a way that just the rear lower valance could be removed separately w/o having to R&R the entire rear bumper cover?

I've done both. Can't really remember one being easier. I'd probably just pull the rear lower valence unless you want to fix a bumper gap or something. There are a few bolts along the valence to remove and then the rest is just pulling hard enough to release the tabs.

I removed all the 4 bolts and 1 hex screw, still will not come off... Are there clips as well?
