Another one bites the dust!

Whipple Stage 2 , 3.250 6rib ATI
Although torqued to spec from that old picture it seems that it wasn’t properly seated
Didn’t check interference tolerance

Welcome to the unfortunate club sir! Have you decided how you'll be fixing it?

Haven’t got the time to take out the heads.
I need to see if I need a short or a long block.
If it is a short block, it would be wise to buy a sleeved one.
Let’s see....

Hopefully the head castings are okay as I believe they are on national backorder. Check out Sai Li or TKM

Im getting my ATI ready for install, took it to a machine shop to check clearances. What bolt are you guys using?

ARP

arp lube under washer and bolt head, and torque to 110-120. light anti-seize on the crank snout.

Anyone measure the TG to crank bolt washer distance on ATI and stock damper?
Wish I had.
I think it is very possible the ATI is simple too thick.
I would measure stock damper thickness and ATI.
Measure the thickness sandwiched between TG and washer under crank bolt.
I bet they are different and would get them machined the same.

I"ll try to measure mine before install.
