Spacers causing rock chips

Hey guys,

im about to install the standard coyote 1inch spacers on my ecoboost pp.

I read in some older threads about rock chips wrecking the rear panels because of the wider stance.

Hoping to get some more opinions on this, especially from people who have been running spacers for a while.

Considering clear bra'ing the rear panels, but thats a pain in the ass.

The fear is real. The first time I noticed the chips I wanted to throw up. Get some mud guards. ZL1 Addons has some that aren't very noticeable.

wider stance should raise that probability. so guards should help avoid that

Ran 1" spacers for a few months, can confirm, my rear quarters are destroyed if you look up close...

Are you guys running all 4 flaps or just fronts? I went with just fronts because I figured the backs won't really do much other than protect the cars behind me, but not so much my own.

I'm running 305's on the rear but decided against the rear flaps. SHould have bought them now that I look back on it lol

Same thing happened to mine... I only ran the front and seemed to be ok.

Can any of you share your wheel spec and effective offset after spacer?

Just try to see how much the wheel/tire need to poke out for this to happen.

i know this is a painful subject, but can we see some pics of these rock chips? is it something that can be protected with using paint protection film (not a fan of mudguards)?

I had 3M installed on the rear quarters when I bought the car. End of story.

I have so many photos of the car, but you can't see the 3M in them. It's almost invisible, unless you're within a few inches of the seams, which is saying a lot considering the car is black. One of the local tint shops did the work. I had them wrap anywhere that would take abuse, being in a Canadian climate. Money well spent.

Look at anchor room. They sell the kit for like $40. Also the best place to get vinyl that isn't a whole stripe kit. I've got quite a few things from them. All quality stuff.
