Car needs more, but I'm coming from a 600+ whp Supra. However, I'm going to enjoy the warranty while it lasts. Only bolt-ons (woofer upgrade, clear bra, exhaust upgrades, etc). 500+ whp is the goal. Now after the warranty, there's no holding back. There will be plenty of mods (supercharger being one of them) with data to back it up. To each his own, but some people need to stop pretending the non R GT350s will be a future collector's car.

Buying this shelby, as it is, I don't think it needs much. Of course this is IMO.
Its a track purpose car, if your looking for straight line speed, likely should be looking at
GT500, again IMO. Those who wish to mod, have fun it will be an interesting read.

The only tune I would do is the track key programming. They'll have to change the name though because there's no key now.

It's not uncommon. GTR's are brought off the showroom floor all the time to tuners. And these are private buyers.

Nice upgrade in the Boss cars because of 3rd gear. Not a problem in the GT350 therefore not needed. I've had aftermarket shifters in other cars as well. Always have had problems with noise, adjustment, vibration. Wont be worth it imo. GT350 shifts awesome as it is.

Indeed, I took both my '09 and '13 GTR's straight to the tuning shop for exhaust and tune. The '09 needed it desperately as the transmission was awful until it had the Cobb TCM update.

I'll probably throw headers on this, but other than that leave it basically stock. Tints go on this week, R wing goes on next week then just a little bit of interior work. Very happy with it overall, so happy in fact that I don't even miss my Aston Martin one bit!

I removed the clutch spring, will do window tint, clear bra, maybe get rid of the resonators and that's it. There's really nothing left to do that will do a hell of a lot of anything imo. Tires for track days and that's it. Those who want more power, go buy a GT500 or a Hellcat. Otherwise you're just going to jack up your car.

Still waiting on my GT350 Track to be delivered. Dealer hasn't even given me a VIN or build date yet so I am starting to wonder what is going on but I am friends with the owner so I know its no funny stuff, they just don't sell a lot of mustangs so are less on top of the details.

Anyway, you mention maybe doing the resonator mod. Curious if anyone has comparison videos. I haven't heard back to back though I have read a few car mag reviews saying the GT350R actually sounds better on the inside and is less drony than the non R. That was a bit of a surprise to me. I don't necessarily need it to be louder but if it sounds better I will definitely do the resonator kit. I removed the 2nd set of bypass cats on my Cayenne Turbo and it literally transformed the sound of the car while making it no less livable on a daily basis.

I'm going to get a season under my belt, get the driver mod down, figure out any suspension quirks (I'm guessing I'll need IRS support arms and bushing supports after one season) and then think about power. I know 526 will eventually not cut the mustard and 600 N/A horsepower will be desired.

If it breaks, build it. Plus your auto insurance has mechanical failure coverage if it would be too costly also but I don't have experience with how that works. Small boltons and a tune won't damage anything. Heavy abuse, nitrous and forced induction may take a toll on the powertrain.
