Does it sound like they closed the valves before take off to anyone else? Seems the revs are fairly loud, then things get a little tame in the volume category

Yes. But this car has Green Cats. I haven't heard a lot about them on the Ford side of things but on the GM side, they apparently work pretty well. HOWEVER...the cost will make your put a hole in your desktop from your jaw hitting it so hard.
Thanks. Looked on Kook's site and they look pretty good. Wonder how they'll hold up to track days. I know IT'LLRUN will put them to the test. Last question, besides sound in person, in my mind is how the exhaust will hold up to the FPC vibrations.

I actually thought the opposite. It sounds like right before acceleration that the tone got deeper and throatier

Is that your car?

Definitely keep us posted. Thanks for being a test bed, but a pretty safe company to let experiment.

Yes sir, this is my car. Kooks has worked with me for several years with the drag race car. It was only natural that I take them the Shelby. There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes before my car got there. They had a prototype header system built before my car was even built.

The next step is to validate the results on the dyno at Roush Yates. There will be a few different components tested on the dyno looking for the best HP/TQ curve. The goal has always been to build a premium exhaust system for the Shelby GT350.

I'm not sure exactly what all I can report, but they have released that these are a 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" stepped design. Currently they are using the factory cat back exhaust.

I know they have worked closely with a race team currently racing this engine in competition. They are well aware of the vibration issue and it has been addressed with these headers.

There will be a full press release when the design is finalized.

I love that they came right out of the gate with a stepped design. That'll be great for gaining as much low end power as possible.

I hope the final design doesn't sound like a kazoo played by a rabid weasel on meth. Its real good at times but when its on the limiter or other rapid fluctuations in rpm not so much.

Sounds awesome.. Bet it makes. A good deal more. Power. Too.

Sounds exotic and racy. Hopefully the current compromise setup just. Gets. Americans. Over the hump and. Ready to embrace thee FPC exhaust note.

I am not sure if I like the sound or its just video quality.
I always find video never does the sound justice.
I know the stock sound is wicked.

I'm not sure some are ready to embrace the "exotic" sounds of the PFC. I am one of the guys LOVING this new sound.
My body is ready. That sounds amazing, guy. Congrats. I'll be very interested if they have a 304 stainless solution for the electronically actuated exhaust (i.e. not just slapping the OE muffler on)

I hope better video/sound comes soon. I don't think the online video does any justice to hearing the stock exhaust in person. This might be the same.

Lol... It does sound feral.

I was just thinking of how the Kooks would sound with the Magnaflow. To me, the Magnaflow muted the rasp, the Kooks amplified the rasp. Maybe the two in conjunction would yield a pretty potent sound that has the best qualities of both systems augmenting each other for a more smooth, exotic sound.
