It's still at their Brendale workshop this morning. Will hopefully be there this afternoon to have a quick final detail and attach the plates.

Not sure how the QLD prestige plate will mount to the front? But I don't want to use the Ford supplied Bracket!!!
Hi Rob,
If you have no need for the factory supplied number plate brackets, would it be possible to send them (front and rear) to Philip at Lakin Custom Plate Brackets in Tasmania? His number plate setup is brilliant. Either yourself or somebody else here in the Forum. We"ll work out the rest of the details once I have a positive "YES" from one of you.
Thanks,
Ian.

Guys any idea roughly how far in advance of alleged (and I use that term intentionally!) build date is the VIN allotted? I have been advised April build, I messaged Deysha with the NSC and she asked for a VIN. A message to my dealer this morning was met with a "it won't have a VIN until it's built and has an engine"
You can try Ford Australia's Facebook page, send them a message. That's the way I found out my VIN.

I think there's a fair bit of misinformation around; some dealers are quite helpful and let people know their VIN. Some are not so forthcoming and there may be a reason for that - my dealer told me there was a Dealer Confidential Bulletin that VIN's were not to be released until the car was build and ready for shipping - that seems to tie in with what you were told.

Didn't really worry me, my dealer has been great the whole time.

Hi Ian,

Picked up the car yesterday after attaching the plates. They attached the rear QLD prestige plates directly onto the car. Unfortunately the nose of the front bumper is quite rounded, so we were forced to use the Ford supplied front plate bracket.
It looked disgusting until my dealer suggested we trim the lower overhanging section off the bracket. It's not perfect, but looks a lot better.

I will definitely follow up on a Lakin bracket. I can chase up the rear bracket if needed? Just let me know.

A couple of quick photo's attached from my phone!

Well that explains why I couldn't see it. My wife wanted magnetic, but I went with deep impact blue.

There are some photos on Metro Ford's Facebook page of cars they delivered last week and they put the ugly front number plate holders on all the cars and they look horrible. Hope you find a way to attach your plates without using them.
Hi GAFA,

Happy New Year!!!

I must admit I thought of changing my colour choice daily for about 6 months. I couldn't decide between Magnetic, DIB, or CO. Eventually had a family vote, and stuck with the first choice of magnetic.

Picked up the car yesterday, and OMG what an amazing looking machine. No photo does this car justice in any colour! Now that I have the car, I am overwhelmed how good it looks in Magnetic (although only have seen TY), it definitely has a sinister aura about it!:eyebulge:
I am sure DIB will be amazing as well.

Since Rob didn't put up any pictures, here's another (EB) Magnetic sitting at the dealer (not mine).

Are they they standard GT wheels? (wasn't sure what the wheels on my magnetic vert would be)

Some thoughts:
- Notice the location of the stalks; the towing hook panel at the front; the wheel/fender gap
- This has the (removable) smokers pack/coin tray)
- The only Ford logo I noticed (on the front windscreen)
- Small looking exhaust pipes (on the EB).
- The EB wheels look better in person - I didn't like them before, but do in the flesh
- Magnetic looks nice! Black wheels on it work well
- Official fuel consumption figures for the EB - not too bad
- Fake gas cap back actually not bad
- Handbrake position is fine - will not bother me at all
- Headroom is ok for 6'5" me, BUT, it's a little bit crowded on the right side of my head - the roof seems to drop down towards the door, so I would bang my head if there was a slight sideways jerk - e.g. turning too fast :/

Are they they standard GT wheels? (wasn't sure what the wheels on my magnetic vert would be)
Nope, they're for the EcoBoosts. I do like them though :)

My window sticker says "SMOKER'S PACKAGE" below the line so hoping that this comes with the car - not for smoking of course, but to hold coins.

Can anyone who has taken delivery confirm if they received it? I see that it's available as a rather cheap accessory from the dealer if not.

Also, has anyone got a badly aligned third brake light/rear glass yet? I see that the one above has a slight misalignment but nowhere near as bad as many I have seen on some earlier U.S. cars.

Drewbo my car has the removable coin/ashtray. The alignment of the third brake light is slightly out, but barely noticeable.
Lots of people have checked out the car and not made mention of it. I did go looking for a misalignment of the glass and body panels, but everything seems pretty good!

Thanks mate.

Will be happy if mine turns out to be as straight as yours.

Seems to be a bit of an (un)lucky dip.

Good news about the coin holder, too.

^^^^ I saw some photos of a few RHD Mustangs in the UK section - the third brake lights on all of them seemed pretty good - here's hoping!

Is that fixable? Or are we stuffed if that happens?

(third brake light alignment)
RSPEC-015, the red ecoboost at my dealer had a slight alignment issue. As well as front and rear bumper spacing/alignment. Plus paint defect on the rear bumper.
