All going well I will be picking up my magnetic GT at North lakes tomorrow.:headbang::headbang:
I might have to swing past Torque Ford tomorrow to have a look.

Update: dropped in there this morning (before they had opened) and no sign on your GT. The area they use for handover of the cars to owners was empty. Perhaps it was hidden out the back, behind the solid fence/gate.

Guys any idea roughly how far in advance of alleged (and I use that term intentionally!) build date is the VIN allotted? I have been advised April build, I messaged Deysha with the NSC and she asked for a VIN. A message to my dealer this morning was met with a "it won't have a VIN until it's built and has an engine"

Got my VIN around 5 weeks before the build date.

Window sticker showed up a week prior to build.

So it will definitely have a VIN prior to being built.

Exactly.

MickyG - your dealer is ignorant or lazy.

Stock code is the first identifier but you can't do anything with it.

My VIN was given exactly 8 weeks before build.

Thanks lads, I suspected as much.
That said, if build is April then VIN won't be until at least February.
Might give FordAu Facebook a try anyway

That's right. I don't think there's any point in contacting Ford Facebook right now. Unless your car has a January or February build, there won't be a VIN yet.

It's still at their Brendale workshop this morning. Will hopefully be there this afternoon to have a quick final detail and attach the plates.

Not sure how the QLD prestige plate will mount to the front? But I don't want to use the Ford supplied Bracket!!!

There is a topic that outlines the whole process for the Australian RHD cars .

search for a thread called "ETIS and Window Sticker Process"

Thanks Aussie Mate - that's the first place I looked! But (unless I am going blind which is ENTIRELY possible) it starts off with already having the VIN... the first 3 pages didn't seem to suggest when the VIN might be issued

Dealer should see it in VISTA but salesman won't need sales mgr or dealer principal to login to see this restricted info is my understanding

Well that explains why I couldn't see it. My wife wanted magnetic, but I went with deep impact blue.

There are some photos on Metro Ford's Facebook page of cars they delivered last week and they put the ugly front number plate holders on all the cars and they look horrible. Hope you find a way to attach your plates without using them.

At least 3 weeks but the final step is having you car scheduled for loading and loading on a boat. Time can vary quite lot.

Aw man, I haven't heard from Deysha yet, only sent a msg 2 days ago though.
My VIN hasn't been uploaded at the WWL site, but it must be sitting in a holding yard at the docks by now.

Yeah don't bother asking your dealer for the VIN, just go straight to Ford Australia on FB, they'll answer in a couple of days.
