Thanks snd93. The x pipe is very affordable. How much did you pay for the install? I know this has been discussed before in other threads, but no drone for you right?

BTW I recently moved to Charlotte. I noticed you're in Fuquay. What's there? Seems like a tiny little town with not much going on.
No drone at all.
Install was free. My dad owns his own shop. Everything from oil changes, bagged rat rods to pro mods.

Yeah, fuquay is tiny compared to Charlotte. We don't have crap here yet but it's growing fast.

Dude that's awesome. BTW How much louder is w/ the x-pipe vs w/o if you had to rate at 25%, 50%, 75% to 100% more.

I'd like to know too. Considering resonator delete but don't want it overly loud. So hard to judge by only videos

X-Pipe is considerably louder. I removed mine because it was too loud and raspy. I would say it's 50% louder. I didn't mind it in town, but I drive 80 miles a day at 75 miles per hour and it was too much on the highway.

Bully, sorry to hear that. Did you get the Roush AB together with x-pipe or added in the x-pipe later because you wanted more sound? So is the Roush AB at perfect sound level you now? I'm asking because I wanted a bit more sound from the Roush AB, about 25% more would be ideal, 50% would be max. If you had the Roush AB first and also wanted more sound, then we are about the same sound level, taste wise, which mean I might find w/ x-pipe to be too loud too.

I already had the X-Pipe installed with the factory axle back. I wanted more sound and got it when I installed the Roush. The Roush alone is very close to what I'm looking for but like you, I want just a little more. I'm going to install an H-pipe (to mitigate the rasp) and a couple short dynomax bullets in between the H-pipe and the axle backs. I think this setup will get me where I want it. IMO X-pipe and the Roush is too harsh. I like a clean sound that's controllable.

Could also do similar to what Bully suggested an go X-pipe with bullets in between. That'll tame a lot of the rasp.

Anyone installed x-pipe with bullets? Is some of the exotic metallic sound sacrificed for reduced rasp?

Reducing rasp without hurting quality of the sound would be amazing. I don't know how these bullets work, but I imagine something has got to give.

Rasp and drone are usually reduced with bullets. Take a look Todd15Fastback's thread about this:

There should be some power gain, especially at the lower rpm? The S550 is pretty sluggish at lower rpm so the power gain woudl definitely be welcomed. Did you guys notice?

There is no real power gain from any exhaust upgrade until you add in long tube headers. The only perceived gains I felt can be attributed to the added volume the mid pipe and axle back.

The x pipe is in. God it sounds phenomenal! Sound quality is exactly what I was hoping for. But volume is a tad too loud, especially the cold start, it's brutally loud. The volume doesn't bother me, but the guilt kept me off the pedal. If I live in the middle of no where I would be flooring it at every turn, but where I live I feel too guilty..I won't be enjoying my car as much unless I can get over this guilt or the volume calms down a bit. Any advice?

Try adding resonators ahead of the mufflers. It'll reduce the volume quite a bit.

The idea of putting a resonator back in after removing the stock resonator seems silly to me... What type of resonator is recommended? Wouldn't it reduce the sound quality just like the stock resonator?
