Was thinking about the theory's behind an X-pipe in general today while contemplating my exhaust options. Since I'm not going to be running cats it might be a good idea to avoid the raspyness, help with drone, give me better low end and still improve top end.

Thoughts?

Corsa has a setup with a double helix x-pipe for the new vettes.

We utilize the Xpipe to achieve maximum HP/TQ when Nick Filippides created ARH a decade ago.

However, we place the Xpipe as far forward as possible as this is where it has been found to be most effective.

What is the reasoning behind thre double x pipe? In simple words please? Is it only to make the sound better?

After determining ideal collector length, an x-pipe can help w/ scavenging...located fairly far forward as the exhaust still contains significant energy. I've never tested a double x setup, but would be highly surprised if any performance would be found. My initial reaction is it's a gimmicky/sound only design change.

The main benefit of our double x-pipe as opposed to doing a standard one is the acoustical benefit we achieve in conjunction with our axle back. Power gains are minimal but slightly higher, flow is minimal but slight higher... tonal gain is huge... we love the science of sound, with every platform we work on and become obsessed with, hence why we are never first to the market but try to be the best in the market.
