it has an engine!
Anyone running full synthetic 10w 30 in there 2015? I know a lot were running it in there 2011 - 2014 cars. I did in my 2011 with no issues. I assume it's the same with the 2015 up.

Yes use 5w30 or 10w30 or 10w40. 5w20 is too thin. People here are high. Its an economy based weight. Not performance

I am chill. So I don't feel like there's water running through my engine. People that run the synthetic Lucas oil stabilizer with their 5W 20 is essentially turning that into 10W-30 or higher.

5w20 seems really thin to me. It's thin for gas mileage. Easier to pump, Engine warms up faster which means faster to operating temp = better for a emissions.

The guy that designed the engine had to meet specifications for certain fuel mileage ratings on the car.

Curious about this as well. Living in SoCal, we don't get snow and it gets pretty hot, so curious about what weight.

If I was to deviate (and I do) from the recomended 5w-20 I would go 5w-30 or 0w-30 for a daily driver and 5w-40 or 0w-40 if I was driving the car really hard.

Remember 80% of your engine wear occurs at start up and getting the oil moving faster is going to reduce that wear. The manufactuers know this and that is why they no longer recomend 10w-xx oils any more.

The low hot rating (xx-20) is provides adequate protection but is geared toward improving economy. My Ecoboost recommends 5w-30, I run 0w-30 in the winter and 0w-40 in the summer.
