You do realize that the Mustang and Fusion share the exact same assembly line, right? The GT350 is just another car that a worker gets paid to build right along with a base model Fusion S. These folks turn out a quality car in a timely manner. But at the end of the day, it’s still just a job for the majority of the workers. Not all of these guys share the same Mustang passion that all the members of this site do. There are plenty that do (I personally know several that do), but not all of them do.

First and foremost, Ford wants to be 100% sure they deliver a safe and a quality car to their customers. Yes, there have been plenty of hold ups and delays getting the cars to the general public. For those of you that think Ford is for some reason doing this for spite – Wake Up. That’s just not the case.

Sure, we’ve seen multiple pictures of the cars sitting outside in the weather. “OMG, there are cars parked in the SNOW!” “Holy Cow, my car was driving in inclement weather at the plant!” Wake Up people! They are just cars and at this point they still belong to FoMoCo. You can’t honestly expect Ford to build climate controlled storage units for even the specialty Mustangs to sit in while they wait their turn for shipment?!?

I could go on and on with examples, but I think you get my point. I too have succumbed to the ill feelings from time to time, but my wife helped me to “see the Light” so to speak. For those of us that have been fortunate enough to order a car, we should be thankful that we were in a position to do so. So many people would love to have the same opportunity.

Its sad that I think a few of the M6G members need this reality check / wake up call. All the negativity is bad for the hobby and this website. I don’t want to associate myself with it. Smile and realize just how blessed you really are today.

Once I realized the it would take 4 weeks from build to dealer it helped with the wait. 4 more weeks on top of 12 is no big deal. This info I got from emailing the plant. So now I'm down to 2 weeks.
Enjoy your cars when you get them is the main point.

If you're picky, worst case scenario, you'll have to do paint correction or have a professional do it. It even happens on brand new Ferraris and Porsches sometimes. These $50-$70K Fords aren't immune. People can be ridiculous.

It's fine with voicing frustration. That's how we find improvement. We know we have eyes at Ford here. What we don't need is several threads to do such a thing. One mega-thread to share concerns, while venting a bit, is plenty.

I'm personally just fine with the wait. The lack of transparency is sad and the lack of attention to detail is troubling.

Something is seriously wrong when you contact Ford Customer Service and they contact your dealership to find information about the vehicle you purchased.

This is a $58 billion company. Sure, I would anticipate slow movement to adapt, being the juggernaut that they are, but we live in a day where great customer service is non-negotiable. I have faith that Ford management will hear this and act. As an investor, it's my personal obligation to make sure I do my part to share what I learn. I want to see this company be a leader in so many areas; design, engineering, technology, and customer service.

Ford sold 6.3 million vehicles last year. If you think you are due some sort of special treatment you are delusional. If you want hand built, you are going to have to fork out a bit more. My last Lexus had 3 recalls before the paint was dry.

I know who deserves special treatment... each one of those 6.3 million customers. I'd even include the dealer networks. These are customers at the end of the day. Nobody is asking Ford to move the Moon here. Take care of the fraction of people who need it, become known for going the extra mile, and bring more and more people into the blue oval.

Ford's technology/systems will catch up to this one day. They have plenty of examples from high tech, who learned this lesson the hard way.

Ford is by no means the only automobile manufacturer who has customers with complaints and various other issues. All car markers deal with this. Take a few minutes and read some of the irate consumers on Porsche, Mercedes, Jaguar forums. Its all there my friend. Ford is no better or worse than any other car manufacturer. Anybody who orders a special edition vehicle should not go into a psychological meltdown if it takes longer than expected.

There is no doubt that every company has their fair share of breakdowns. That doesn't mean you stop improving the systems. If anything, with the bar being so low, it should motivate you to crush the competition for the sake of your customers, employees, investors, and leadership.

Seriously? My 2013 Lexus GS350 F Sport had a total of 3 recalls. In each instance my car was scheduled an appointment, the recall was done in one day and I also received a new Lexus as a loaner car. When I picked up my car it was washed and the gas tank was filled, all for no cost to me. The day I bought my Lexus was the day I understood the true meaning of customer satisfaction. All my panels line up, no check engine light or noises ever in three years. When I do go for oil changes, the customer lobby is filled with coffee, cappuccino, soft drinks, fresh baked cookies, muffins, fruit juice, etc.. No cost. My Lexus was 53k and that's the treatment I would expect.

I love my GT, the dealership never saw it since the day I bought it. There's no excuse for poor customer service, especially when you are paying over 50k for a car such as the GT350. My GT wasn't 50k, but I still expect better service.

I'm all about the cars coming out good no matter how much it costs, panels lining up, paint in proper condition, and real communication between business and customer. But with all due respect, the cost of the Lexus is in the refinement, luxury, and customer service. Ford isn't a luxury brand, even if they have expensive cars. In regards to the GT350, the cost of the car is in the development of the motor(and boy, what a motor), and it's performance on the track. Toyota/Lexus have been using the same 3.5L motor for a very long time now. They are point A to B in luxury. GT350 is point A to B in fun as hell

How long has Ford used the 5.0? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. You get the whole package with Lexus and should expect the same with any car costing over 50k.

I'm not knocking on the 5.0, or the Lexus motor. I'm just highlighting that what you're paying for is the transformation of the Coyote motor into the Voodoo, among other upgrades, and it was no easy feat. I'm a big fan of Lexus, but I am not expecting mind blowing performance because they're not known for that(LFA excluded). I am expecting mind blowing performance from the GT350, and not luxury and refinement. That means I am not expecting to get the wine and dine treatment you got with your Lexus. We all know where money was spent for a Lexus, and for a GT350.

"Fresh baked cookies", Wow, couldn't imagine an oil change without that and yeah, don't forget the Cappuccino! Amazing how soft the average American has become, we expect to be coddled and fed at every juncture.
