Intake air temps

This post is to give info to a fellow forum member.
The first graph I was using cardboard, so some heat shielding was still in effect. There's only a 6° drop in the 1/4 mile pass. And at one point it actually started going up again.
On the second and third graphs....I know the outside air temp got better by the time I put the good heat shield in action, but there's a 20°+ drop and it never comes back up during the 1/4 mile pass.
Not only does it drop more, but it also drops faster.

Here's a few videos showing how I launch with my 1.5 60'. No doubt the Circle D 5C & BMR are what make my 1.5 60' possible. YouTube, I'm RBS550 you can see other videos. The only one not Mustang related are my who works at Disney.
Didn't want to hijack the STEEDA JLT thread.

Which size tires ended up working best with your 3.15 gear? (before the 15" wheels) trying to decide with size 17s to go with that will work with the gear NA

295/45/17 Mickeys, but I don't think they make that size anymore. I have one pair left for next year, IDK what I'll do after that.

Wonder why they stopped making them?

Trying to figure out what route I will go.. I assume 305/45-17 @ 28.1 tall... might kill the 3.15 though

I agree with your thinking on the 28", but we might be surprised if you have or will have a converter. My Circle D 5C has amazed me.....I come from a stick & sintered iron clutch background and after using their converter I have had to change my way of thinking, case in point I went to 3.73s thinking it would be a no brainer to go faster....but much to my surprise my best 60' and all other times are from the 3.15s, but I really believe Circle Ds converters are the key. If not, hopefully 3.31s will be readily available soon.

I just bought a set from Jegs a couple days ago.:)
Sweet! Wonder how these compare to the new ET street R tires performance wise?

I have a converter in the plans. I plan to go FI (Twins) in the future, so would want to tailor it for those plans instead of NA.

Intake clearance

The following pics are for a forum member to aid in their decisions. I hope this helps. I've got the car on 4 jack stands, I'm short, by myself and I was standing on a jack stand, so I couldn't hold the tape measure and take a pic at the same time, I measured 3/4" from the top back of the intake the lower point, which is about an additional 1/4" lower than where the hood rests when closed. You can see where I had to open the back of the hood to clear the intake, still needs a little more indicated by the white marks on the back of the intake from rubbing and you can see outlines on the hood where it touches the cowl of the firewall when closed.
