People go to dealer for oil changes? I did this with a previous car and they wrote down all my mods. Thank goodness nothing went boom. It was an import though.

Married with two kids and 40 years old....my time is worth the money of getting it done for me at the dealer.......trust me.....in my younger years I was all about the DIY oil change. I still do all my mods myself though.....

it costs about the same to have it changed at a dealership vs doing it yourself. Hell, I'm not laying on my back on the ground....

I don't recommend going to the dealer for oil changes. They use junk oil, and I have stressed it all over the forums to change the oil at 400miles or less. Change to a WIX oil filter and either Motul 8100 X-cess or Rotella T6.

I don't change mine either. I just don't go to the dealer. We have a shop across the street from work. I'll leave it there in the morning have them change the oil pick it up after work. The carry all the types of oil and products I like and clean and vacuum the car while there. Little mom and pop shop. Supporting local some:)

I've been searching everywhere for the exact wix filter to use with no luck, which number filter? Also, do I use Rotella t6 5w-30 or 40? Thank you!

They only come in one flavor. You can get it at Walmart, 5w40.

I have a filter sitting on my table in front of me, 51348.

I need to change mine oil soon for the 1st oil change? Why Rotella T6 Adam?

Long time ago, I had an old Mazda 626 which I can never chirp going to 2nd.. As soon as I put in Mobil 1 synthetic, it chirped, and I can feel a little bit of power.. I don't usually believe the hype until I experienced it. I never used Rotella T6 or Amsoil or Royal Purple.

Any advantages with the T6? I'm tuned with an MMR CAI.

Even better would be this scenario not that I have experienced this but ....

You take your car in for a free oil change everything is fine then 12k later you have a problem, you put the stock intake and tune in the car take it back for warranty and the service writer pulls up your cars history and they have photos of your mods. They deny you warranty.

Things that make you go hmm ?

Just a thought.

When I bought said car we used to take off the license plate because the stealership was video taping runs at the track. They would use the license plate to id the car. I don't think they ever got a vin though? Don't trust the dealerships.

FYI. Amazon has Rotella for the same price as Walmart and the Wix filter is 5.99. Shipping should be free. Prime gets it there in 2 days free.

Thread inspired me to change my own oil for the first time in years, bought two 2.5 gallon containers of T6 at Walmart for $100 and put it in both cars and both mowers. lmao
