HP to cubic inches, the Ford Coyote/Voodoo engines make more power than any Chevy LS Naturally aspirated production engine made. You have a 1955 old style single cam, 16 valve pushrod lifter engine vs a modern 4 cam 36 valves engine.
Example: Z28--427cid--505hp vs GT350--315cid--426hp

That's a common misconception people have. Over head cam is actually OLDER than pushrod tech. Ford made a DOHC hemispherical head all aluminum V8 back in the 40's. And SOHC is really old

Jesus Christ what a cluster of a thread. 11 pages of bitching and moaning over a few tenths in the 1/4 mile, for a high revving NA track car.

The funniest thing to me about ALL of this?? 20 years ago when my DD was a 5.0 Mustang LX, THIS is the same argument all of the Honda guys made... HP/liter...and it seemed SO silly because they were SO slow! :). Just sayin!'

So what model of Factory cars you could buy at your local Ford Dealership with the DOHC & SOHC engines back in the 40's 50's 60's....???? example:Galaxie, Fairlane, Mustang.......?

You mean this post where he was responding to someone else?

He wasn't the one that brought it up.
Bro. Reading COMPREHENSION.

Seriously.

He brought up the power comparison, WHICH IS WHAT I RESPONDED TO...

I corrected HIS statement on power between the two.

The other guy was simply responding to a previous comment as well.

Go ahead and take a seat. You're not helping your cause v

None and I never said it was put in a car, just that Ford made them. The GAA was based off a DOHC turbo direct injected V12 intended for use in airplanes. When that didn't happen Ford made a V8 and it was put in tanks. And my whole point was that OHC is older than push rods, that was just an example.

Go back and read your reply to him.

YOURE THE ONE WHO brought up ENGINE POWER BETWEEN THE TWO.

I simply fact-checked you.

Recap time:

In your reply to another poster, YOU (not someone else) compared the corvette engine power to the gt350. You were incorrect. And got fact-checked.

Then, looking stupid, you got all caught up in a side issue of where the original comparison came from in order to avoid the fact that you were wrong. Now you look more stupid, because you can't even tell that you are responsible for bringing up the power comparison b

I read someone else replying to a post and in that reply, he brought up corvette weight and handling.

It was YOU who then brought up power.

Out of the blue.

From nowhere.

You.

I then replied to YOU.

And in normal course of discussion, it was a proper reply to your assertion that YOU brought up.

Thanks for playing.

The way that you jumped in looked like you were talking about him bringing up the Vette. Not to mention that you edited a couple of statements to clarify after I responded. Regardless, I misunderstood you. I apologize.

All I did was reply to his incorrect statement on an engine power comparison he brought up while replying to another member about a number of things.

My reply should have been very easily discerned from that as I specifically and only pulled out his own original thought on engine power.

I edited nothing except to further explain to you where you weren't figuring out for yourself the fact that the guy made his OWN,new observation on power. It was that which I responded to. The edits were basically putting kid gloves on and explaining it to a level to where you'd get it. It seemed you were overzealous to defend your points earlier with someone else and then jumped on me when you didn't know what you were talking about (concerning my post).

But in any case, I appreciate that you could man up.

Not too common of a thing. Thanks.

You're seriously retarded.. You must have missed post 169 when I corrected my response to z06. Doesn't matter what was said, point is the car is in another category.

Now quit cluttering the thread with your useless bs.

In this Forum we were talking about production cars like GT350 vs Z28. If the engine didn't make to a production car, it doesn't really count.
