1SS performs better than the GTPP. The GTPP is still very much setup for comfort in comparison. They would need stiffer shocks and some different tires to hang with the SS, but they may be trying to keep the gap wide between the GTPP and GT350. So, they may not change it.

I'm pretty confident that if Ford was to offer a track pack for the Mustang, it would have no problem equaling or bettering the SS on a track.

Mag ride, base like interior, manual trans only, wheels, tires, brakes. Base no option'ish weight range. 3720 maybe with a full tank of go go juice.

Just curious, but isn't the Performance Pack essentially the track pack for the Mustang? I would think the GT and SS are comparable trim levels and the GT PP is the next step up. Which might be similar to the next 1LE (?). So the Mustang will need an additional TP trim above PP to best the SS numbers, which is a trim level below it? Not arguing with you, and haven't even seen the performance numbers for the SS cars so I'm really just curious if the new Camaro is that much ahead of the Mustang.

The 1SS and 2SS are trim levels, not performance levels. GM does not offer a factory optioned package that increases any performance on the Camaro SS. 1LT, 4 pots front and back, trans, oil, and diff cooling, same suspension all around. And you get either basic options or Grand Touring like comforts. Any other sub model from SS amps everything up to a level that puts it with completely different performance competitors. I like that strategy personally.

The Mustang is definitely more customizable car. It's also confusing as hell. 400A, 401A, wheel options, interior options, and body pieces that aren't functional...Personally, I think it's a compromise too far though. The Performance Pack should be a PERFORMANCE Pack. Bigger brakes? Good. More focused wheels and tires? Alright, fine. Shocks and struts that are trampolines? Inexcusable.

I'd stick with the 4-pot PP brakes, add an oil cooler, and downsize to lighter 18" wheels and tires.

And yes, I took some measurements to start the GT350 wheel process. 11" front and 12" rear look easy, possibly even without camber plates. Not sure we could get a 12 up front, but an 11.5 might be possible.

That's great. Any speculation on timeline? I'm going to need two sets for next track season starting early April.
