Some notes:

Not overly thrilled with the surface quality. Looks like they printed it in a odd orientation. Will require a bit more surface finishing then I had originally intended. Other then that though it checks out dimensionally!

I was thinking the same but none of the Chinese manufactures want to give up (sell) their bezel apparently.

It would be better to do our own, inj molded one HERE! As in the USA. It's the setup that cost.

I can get from China. There $125 each. Same as ebays style. Unless you order a large quantity the shipping per unit is insane.

I can't promise he will help. Tell him you got there system and explain issues.

Also keep in mind the EBay unit uses two OS systems. Wince is only for Nav. The op is is custom. The firmware HAS to match the hardware. Much like a ROM for a phone if you root it.

If he is unable or willing to help you, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

This company is building a custom replacement for a friend. It's almost complete and looks like factory. little more on that later....

Edit: get the firmware ID/SN from the unit. He will need that.

I know.
I'm on the verge of doing just that. I've mentioned in past post for people to fund you on this. My issue is the APIM. There just aren't a lot of screen/apims nav enabled to purchase. All the apims I've check have NOT had Nav. you need an alternative. Or for adding nav to the apim to be less expensive.
In reality, the entire setup shouldn't be more than $1300 but many people for that price want p/p. Not that kind of $ and have to do the wiring.... I really feel this is what holds people back from doing it.
Heck, I spent $900 for one and I'm having the OS changed. I also have an EBay one coming to do the same. Let my co-workers try to crack it. Some say can't be done. I've seen stranger things these guys do....
