I am shopping for a new car, and I do like the Mustang GT. Most bang for the buck. But I noticed that the side mirrors are tiny, smaller than just about any car out there. Half the size of a 4-banger Honda sedan I was looking at some time ago, at least measured in square centimeters.

The side mirrors got shrunk from the previous generation Mustang, which were not all that big to begin with. I have no idea who in the Ford design department decided that smaller is better, reducing visibility on what is supposed to be a high performance car.

BLIS might help, but they buried that safety option in $6k of Premium / luxury, and I am mainly just wanting a strong V8, manual gearbox, and good visibility to enjoy the power with confidence.

I cross shopped the Dodge Challenger, but apparently Dodge is quite fond of the oversized sewn-in rear headrests that block rear window. That bad design persists year after year. And I didn't bother shopping Camaro, as most reviews use terms like "cons: poor visibility" and "large blind spots".

Mustang is supposedly the best visibility of the three, despite tiny side mirrors.

It's a mystery why the muscle cars are built this way, as they generally spend most of their time navigating traffic, and often very heavy traffic.

Because big obnoxious mirrors look stupid. They needed to strike a balance between size and functionality and I think they hit the nail on the head. PROPERLY adjusting these mirrors you will find out that they are fine. Remember, side mirrors are for side viewing and the rear view mirror is for the rear.

They actually work very well when adjusted correctly (like mentioned above) and the spotter mirrors on them really help.

I thought the same thing at first but the extra blindside thing does help and if adjusted well you can basically see the two extra lanes from either side plus if I turn my head back I can see everything haha

I wouldn't want large mirrors.

You want large mirrors? Just put some EU mirrors on it and call it a day. :D

Last gen had a bigger and blockier look. This gen is sleek and sporty. The mirrors fit the proportions quite nicely in my opinion. Big mirrors would look odd on this design. Just look at the Euro version.

The mirrors on the current generation Mustang have great visibility IMO. I dont think you will have any issues and like a lot of folks have said, the blind spot feature helps quite quite a bit. Take a test drive and see it for yourself.

Oh.....

The mirrors look perfect to me... never given it a thought.

While driving I never can't see or have trouble seeing what is around me.

You can always go aftermarket:

Oh they will work for sure, and you will see things great..... Love it.... Ha!

If you were looking at a 4 cylinder, and now looking at a V8, mirrors probably aren't going to be the only thing you find to be an issue lol
