I think it will be unlikely. Since I already bought it, the answer is yes, I will still buy it. ha

of course the ADM is only going to get worst on the R especially. Even though I have the pricing in writing I'm still worried about them trying something with me and the car..we are all winners either way..if the market blows up (in a bad way) and the price drops, will will all get better deals. or not get the car at all, but this is not going to happen IMO

Will they be sold before performance numbers are out?

I think some will be built this year, but possibly not all of them.

I believe a lucky few will get their R's, but the majority of us will be waiting if the halt ends up being true. I'd be fine with getting the car in March/April, but I'm going to be pissed if its later than that. Having a Ford on order for 6+ months seems a bit absurd.

I'm not sure if the poll is asking if 'any' gt350r's will be produced before spring or what...I do know that my production date has been bumped back so many times that it's hard to believe the current date...BUT, it does have a prod day (not just week) of Oct 26 just two weeks from today) so I'm very hopeful that that will hold and I'll have the car in Nov. If not, there's a possibility my Focus RS will arrive before my Shelby.

Just had a good call with FP. No car yet but the rumor about a winter production may be just that. A rumor. Imagine that.

Probably won't get my car till next year anyway, but this news increases the chance of more cars being delivered this year.

Rumor? I thought it was documented that they would not build them during the winter. Are you saying that isn't correct and that they will be building Rs?

I won't mind if the car comes in the spring, would actually prefer that. Cause it will just sit all winter and not get used. Would rather have it come early spring so I can drive it when i get it and not have it sitting for months.

Pretty sure used ones will be on lots before we get any real numbers from these cars....

I'm saying based on the conversation today, that there is nothing stopping them from building over the winter months

I will second that motion based on recent conversations with various people at Ford that should know.

Having said that lets all see what happens over the next month or so as my R has recently been moved out from Oct. 5th to Oct. 21st and now to Nov. 2nd?

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Some of you may recall the issues with the C7's Sport Cup 2 tires that cracked during light use (to and from the plant & dealer) during last winter. What you may not know is that GM picked up the bill for replacing all of those tires.

Here's a valuable quote from Michelin's lead engineer, Lee Willard, "This winter has been extremely harsh in much of the country and some recently shipped Corvette tires may exhibit cracking. In general, summer tires should never be driven on or moved in temperatures under 20°F because they may crack. Tires should be carefully inspected at the dealership before taking delivery of a vehicle.”

Why is this relevant you may ask? The R has virtually the same tires. They will crack in cold temps. Corvettes are made in KY, which has an average low of 34 degrees in the winter. Mustangs are made in MI, which has an average low of 20 degrees. My belief has been that Ford will halt production of the R when it gets cold to avoid a similar situation. I'd be very surprised if they didn't.
