2016 Shelby GT350 Allocations

Is there anyway to verify a dealers allocation I have some leads on cars but most are saying april delivery. What is the production schedule for 2016 gt350?

I am presently in Canada on vacation and visited an SVT dealership earlier today that had 12 allocations for the GT350 and 1 allocation for the GT350R.

This dealership presently has 6 allocations left for the GT350 and is willing to sell each of these last 6 GT350's at MSRP.

This dealership is located in the Southern Ontarion and know them quite well.

If any of you Canadians that are looking for a 2016 Shelby GT350 at MSRP please PM me your information and I will provide you with the name of the dealership and the contact person for these cars?

I work for a Ford dealership ... Ford has implemented a rule that we are not able to sell anyone any NEW Ford that will be exported.

Read it again. That is specific to fleet sales. However, I know it's verbotten to sell a Raptor that you know is leaving. I think that is specific to SVT/FP vehicles.

Yes same here also my dealer has allocation for 15, 1 R still has 6GT350's at MSRP, last I spoke to him. keep in mind for US folks, it needs to be registered in Canada for 6 months, before it could be moved across the border. So if you have connections, still could work

Just plain ridiculus Ford allocates so few GT350 R Mustangs. Every dealer who sells the Mustang GT350 should be allowed to at least get one GT350R allocation.

the math just wouldn't work if you're only going to build ~500 R's in a year.

Wont work. there are 3000 dealerships or so and 500 Rs. Even if only half sell a regular 350, still 500 Rs for 1500 dealerships. Math doesn't work obviously.

And the way things are going at present possibly 20% less?

Based on a conversation that I recently had with a Ford rep stating that Canada will only get ~35 R models in total and historically they get 9% to 10% of the total North American build for limited production cars from Ford the math suggests less than 500 for all of North America but again only speculation at this point?

I work at a dealership in Louisiana.
Our GT350 with tech package was initally slotted for an arrival the week of September 24th. A few days ago my manager informed me that it has been pushed back to November 1st.

Anyone else with dealership intel getting similar arrival dates or sooner than Nov 1st??

Somewhere on this forum. I think in the EU, there's a mandated 1" gap (maybe I have the number wrong, but it's something on that order) between the underside of the hood and hard parts underneath, so that when the car collides with a pedestrian the pedestrian won't be injured as severely. The 2015 GT as a world car was designed to meet the spec, but the GT350 has a hood that fits more tightly to the engine, etc.

There's a thread on this forum somewhere - someone posted a video of a Mercedes or some other European car that has a hood that moves away from the engine during a collision in order to accommodate the regulation.

There was a series of interviews with the designers way back in the day, and one of the questions was "What would you have done if you had more money in the budget" One of the designers said he would have liked to lower the hood, but couldn't due to Euro pedestrian safety standards (there needs to be a large gap between the hood and the fixed components below it, like a strut tower brace). The designer would have used the budget on a pedestrian airbag system, or something similar, so the hood cold be lower.

Now, if you look at the photos of the Euro GT, which comes with most of the PP components, you'll see that there is no strut tower brace. Which might imply that it would not pass the pedestrian safety standards, even with the higher hood.

If you look at the GT350, the hood is much lower and there is a strut tower brace. This, too, would imply that it likely does not meet pedestrian safety requirements.

I don't think Ford has released a statement giving a specific reason why the GT350 is not offered overseas, but due to the factors mentioned above, I think many suspect that ped. safety might be why.

If you bought your GT350 through Military car sales, You can have it shipped anywhere in the world that has a MAS rep, including Europe, So it would have nothing to do with Ped safety. The ADM's would be astronomical on a limited production vehicle that was available worldwide.

I'm ready to throw down whatever's necessary to buy one but with the way this is going it's going to be damn near unobtainable or spend well over what the car is worth. These assholes are pushing me farther & father into a C7 every day that this nonsense goes on. Great marketing plan ford!

The Euro pedestrian safety rules are the reason I heard the hood is so high on normal Mustangs. Buying through MAS probably gets around the Euro rules as they are not sold in Europe themselves.

I'm beginning to think that getting the R car is not going to be a reality for me. I really don't see many local dealerships getting a R car around here. I will look around and search, but am not going to stress out about it. Plus, I refuse to pay more than 5K ADM on it. I love the car, but not that much.
Hopefully it happens, if not, the '16 Hellcat is my other option, lastly followed by a '16 3LZ Z06. (Not too crazy about the Z06 though.) May hold out for if and when they build the new GT500. As long as it's a V8 and has gobs of power and torque. Hopefully that won't be as difficult to get as well.
