Hi everyone, I've done some searching and can't figure it out for sure. My question is about "playing" with the car in a controlled area, ie.. doing burnouts, donuts, drifting etc...

I have a base GT with PP and from what I've figured out the way to disable all the nannies is to push and hold the TC button for anywhere from 5-10 seconds I've read and then it will say "advance trac off" on the dash and the icon on the lower left of the dash will come on. looking on p.81 of the manual it's the "stability control off" light that will stay illuminated until I either shut the car of or push the button again.

1) Does the "stability control" light ever come on? If so, when should I see it on?

2) When in that mode, is the Torque management and clutch protection systems still active, ie... for drag strip duty, if so, is there a way to work around that so it doesn't limit throttle

3) I understand any of the reputable tunes will alleviate these things, but I haven't been able to find anywhere whether or not flashing the tune will void the warranty or not, I can't imagine since there's so many cars out there tuned, I can't see them all having voided their warranty.

Anyways, thanks in advance!

1) The "stability control" light will flash if you have not turned AdvancTrac off AND the system engages because the sensors detect a stability or traction condition.

2) Not sure exactly what you mean by torque management and clutch protection. The differential in your car is a Torsen (torque sensing) and will always operate when it detects relative wheel slippage (it's mechanical, and completely independent of AdvancTrac). AdvancTrac will dial back the throttle and/or engage single wheel brake(s) if it detects an appropriate stability or traction condition. If you have disabled AdvancTrac, it won't operate at all.

3) I have no knowledge of the impact of tunes upon warranty.

Hope that helps...

2) With all the nannies turned off, I have still experienced the car bogging down at the upper RPM range of first gear when rolling out. I have read a good tune will fix this by turning the clutch protection off. I have also read pulling out fuse #62 does the same thing.

Thanks! I think that answered my questions lol. So when you say disable AdvancTrac, that's by pushing and holding the TC button for 5-10 seconds right?

That's what I was wondering about the car bogging. I tried pulling fuse #62 for a couple days, seemed to be ok, but not sure what else it was affecting or if it's recommended to leave it permanately out

What is clutch protection? I haven't heard of that.

I'm not sure what all #62 protects, but if it disables AdvancTrac and you get into an accident (whether related or not) you might be legally liable. Just something that my HPDE instructor pointed out as a possibility. I'd be careful.

In fact, it raises the whole question of 'if I push-button disable AdvancTrac (e.g. Track Mode) on public streets and hit and kill someone, what is the consequence?'

Just thoughts, I'm not an expert.

It makes me mad and bogs my car down when I roll out hard.

My '69 Mustang is extremely low tech and I can't imagine getting into more trouble for having an old vehicle without programs. I am not used to driving with electronic programs so I always turn off the nannies in my '15.

 I agree, it's very embarrassing taking someone for a drive and it bogs to the point that you're making excuses for the car. Having the power it does, it should be able to roast the tires, do donuts and kick the @$$ end out on will, not pray that it'll pull harder then my subaru forester LOL

I read pulling fuse #62 disables Track Apps such as Line Lock.

You might have launch control active, I have noticed same effect when it is on.
