It could certainly be done that way as well! I actually did it this way when I first disassembled my dash. I modified the tray to remove the lip and guide posts. That way every time I need to take apart the dash I no longer have to fight to get the tray out.

With all the test fitting and prototyping that you had to do that sounds like the best way to go. I was thinking about trimming off the lip if it didn't fit back in but I managed to bend it back into its spot. Showed that peace of plastic whose boss after the car cut my hand in 3 places :doh:

Just got the tier 1 toggles installed. They look and feel great, only complaint is the weak toggle feel but i think that would be my fault for forgetting to re-install the back piece to the motherboard and adding a small spacer.

For those who might care, i'm 5'5 and the red hazard light isn't as visible as the other 2.

Glad you received! Could you elaborate a bit more on the weak feel? Do they feel too loose or to tight? What are you referring to as the back piece and spacer?

They feel loose. The back piece I'm referring to is the black plastic that goes behind the motherboard. I feel like maybe some sort of Small spacer would make the toggle feel tighter but like I said it might just be me since I didn't install it correctly. Was getting late and after installation I notice I had extra parts and screws lmao.

Haha yea that back cover would certainly help as it would add a bit more rigidity to the circuit board! Also, did you wrap the base of each toggle with electrical tape for a snug fit? That could also cause a loose feeling.

Just got into the car and the very top Bottons of the radio are loose and I found a light blue clip on the floor Lol. I did not wrap the toggles with anything but it does seem a little better today for some odd reason. So the installation didn't go as planned but the product is good. Haha

Thanks! Haha yea get that back panel on and wrap the toggles. Just put one layer of tape around the base. If you find that you cannot make them fit remove tape as needed until they slide in snugly. That will help out with toggle movement.

Sounds good. I should be doing this on Saturday along with painting them gloss black.

trying to install mine cant figure out hoe to remove the center conceal or how your suppose to do it.

If you find that the toggles are to tight you should sand the transparent button. Remove about .5mm of material from the backside of each button.
