Will the raw aluminum match the stock aluminum knobs? Some shapeways renders in metal!
In order from top to bottom
Aluminum
Polished Nickel Steel
Grey Steel
Matte Black Steel
Makes me wonder if I would be able to polish the raw aluminum. Spending $300 to screw it up...I think I'm going to play it safe and just go with the matte black steel and do a red glow in the dark inlay on the design. They would not have a polished appearance so not exactly. They will look more like the finish on apple MacBooks/ cast aluminum parts.
No reason why you could not polish the aluminum! Think of these parts as freshly cast metal. Same techniques that would be used to polish cast parts could be used on these as well!Makes me wonder if I would be able to polish the raw aluminum. Awesome job, thanks for all your hard work!

Very interested in seeing your combo! Post pics when you receive!
Aluminum will hide the layer lines from 3D printing better then matte steel. Aluminum will also have a finer detail then the steel.Decisions, decisions... this is going to be hard.

You've convinced me, I'm going to go for the raw aluminum. Thanks for adjusting the price. Also I just edited the pricing on some of the mechanical bits of the toggle. There was an error on the base and button. Pricing has been fixed on them making overall price less then that original $300 for aluminum.... I apologize for the error!
