Sorry guys but a twin turbo v6 in a mustang isn't gonna happen. Ford is committed to the 5.0 for good. They will keep the v8 in trucks for sure and it will stay in the pony car as well.
until 2019 then good luck finding a v8, cafe

Ecoboost is a good car but I think you have to be 100% sure you'll like it over the long term to buy it. Personally, I knew I would never be happy with a non V8 'Stang so I didn't even truly entertain the Ecoboost despite the cheaper price. At the end of the day OP is happy now so that's what matters. Enjoy the new car!

If it wasn't for the EB Mustang I'd probably be driving another EB fusion or a WRX. All were 25k...I think I made the right choice.

Congrats to OP on his new GT!

I did the same as the OP and traded my EB this past Thursday. The new GT is a OW premium GT with 6-speed. Main reason i traded is i couldn't stand the sound of the turbo 4. All of the aftermarket exhausts sounded like ass to me.

I was approved for Ford's 0% financing for 72 months. They also included $1000 cash back from Ford and the salesman from the dealership had a $1000 private offer he put my name on. I also had X-plan but the dealership was able to beat X-plans pricing.

So in the end i'm really happy with my new GT. Just about to order a Corsa xtreme cat back and i'm pretty much set. The EB has good power for the I4 and rode nice. The other thing is i never got the highway mileage it stated on the window sticker. After 5 months and 4000 miles the closest i could get was 31 mpg but even that wasn't consistent either.

Of course. Soon as you drive the car off the lot you lose money. I lost more than i cared to but i wanted to take advantage of Ford's 0% financing for 72 months and the $2000 cash back. Plus i got a good deal that was better than X-plan pricing.

I really wanted a GT and after a couple months of debating trading or not i just lost interest in doing anything to the EB. I really wanted a nice sounding Mustang and i would never get that in an EB.

I plan on keeping the GT long term because to be honest there isn't another car out there that i like. I'm a long time Camaro fan and owner of multiple Camaro's but the new 2016 Camaro is butt ugly IMO. From what i've read it's pretty expensive to go V8 with the SS. I feel i got a great deal on the premium Mustang GT.

I was debating on a ecoboost lease. I decided to sell my 13 Premium GT and was gonna sell my daily driver and just DD the ecoboost and be done with modding and dumping money into cars for few years and stash some cash. Then I seen 0% for 72 months and the Ford dealership in NC that is part of my dealer group I work for had an inbound Oxford White 15 premium with PP. Which it was difficult to find a 15 in the exact options I wanted to qualify for 0%. They cut me a good deal on it and the rest is now history...I think I would have been OK with a EB for a couple years. That's why I would just lease one in case resale didn't hold up if the model tanked for whatever reason. I still managed to save $87 a month on the new GT and didn't lose any money in the sale of my 13 except for mods. But you never really get that money back anyway. I am happy with my decision so far. As long as my 93 Honda Accord DD keeps running haha. 234K and counting.

Congrats on the upgrade OP. I didn't like the 50th wheels at first, but they look really good on Magnetic and Black[emoji106]

Twin turbo 3.5 V6 in a Mustang would be nice. I would be all over that.
my buddy works for ford for the marketing department. he confirmed to me that the 2018 model will have a v6 ecoboost and that they have several testers in michigan already obviously. this shouldnt be any news tho. the 2.3 was a test to see if owners will buy a turbod mustang.

Reason only after 2 months?

Just making me think Chevy got it right with their V6 being the mid model. Seeing lots on here trading up from EB to the GT.

Don't think I've seen a V6 to GT yet on here...has anyone done that?
Late, but I did!

Bought a v6 a month later upgraded to the 5.0.

I'm used too a 6.4 hemi, so it's understandable.

From a Ecoboost Prem PP to a GT

After 10 months I made the decision to trade in my Ruby Red Eco Premium w/Power Package for a Ruby Red, Prem, GT w/50th Anniversary.

The decision wasn't easy, but the Turbo needed an owner that has the time and knowledge to bring it to a higher level. I started to install some mods but soon realized the potential of this car needed a dedicated owner and I honestly wasn't it. I had fun driving it and it surprised the hell out of a few rice burners but I just didn't have the time and brain cells to unleash it's true potential.

The GT on the other hand is amazing, at least for me. From the second I sat behind the wheel and heard that 5.0 rumbling I knew I had to make the change. The Anniversary package gives it the classic look compared to the Eco's black wheels sinister appearance. And with the GT I have a beauty that quickly turns to a 5.0 beast.

For those interested in details, I got an amazing deal when I ordered the Eco back in Dec which put me out the door nearly 4K below MSRP so the trade-in loss was ($1350) was a little easier to absorb. Finding a Ruby GT with 50th was a bit more challenging but my LFD found one close by and you can't beat -$1K, plus a few other rebates and zero financing.

I love them both but prefer to feel and hear the V8.

Just my humble opinion,
NCF

Awesome man, enjoy it! Should've went with the GT to begin with. Most Ecoboost owners who trade in for the GT ALWAYS mention sound. The Ecoboost will not replace that.

Congrats on the trade in....im jealous, i currently have a v6 and while its such a great and fun car to drive, i really really wish i had a GT. I took a big hit ($5000) since i traded another car in for the v6 stang and the 22k price tag attracted me. If i decide to trade in my v6 for a GT right now id take another hit, plus i dnt think the bank or the dealer would even accept a trade with such high negative equity. Ugh i hate that feeling of regret.
Dude, there's always something better. Don't get sucked into the mindset. The V6 is a sweet car with plenty of performance. Get booked into some HPDE. Track it. Drive it, enjoy it. Don't regret it. There's always something better, nicer, newer, faster, shinier.
