Seems that way ..... and you would have thought that customers buying their (to use the jargon) 'halo' products would be worthy of a little more consideration. With a bit more effort surely the whole Mustang/RS thing would have been a massive 'win/win' for Ford - sell more high value cars, attract new customers to the brand, sell more Fiestas/Mondeos etc by association, good 'word of mouth' reputation for customer service etc etc - result! However, given my experience so far I'd be struggling to recommend buying a Ford to anyone and I won't be too keen to go back for another car (which given better service I may have done).

I'm not saying 'we' should be treated better than a Fiesta buyer, but it would be nice to be treated the same as a Fiesta buyer! My mother had better service when she bought her Focus! :frusty:
Totally agree. Yeah ok the dealers know nothing and we keep saying it's not their fault BUT what are our dealers actually doing about it to put things right and the answer I see is nothing. Yes ok Ford UK have not passed on information about the cars etc but that doesn't mean our dealers can't find out for themselves and put pressure on their people on our behalves, instead we have to come together on here and put the pieces to the puzzle together

On a unrelated note, I saw the news this morning about a ÂŁ100 million invest in the Nissan factory in Sunderland. At least you have that going for you
Well, it wont be going for me after the 25th of September. I quit my job at Nissan to go work elsewhere.

I think that time is coming sooner rather than later. I was fed up last night and then I read that delivery has slipped another 9-10 days which in total now means our cars our a month late even though they are built, sitting there collecting dust!!!
Lets do it then?! lets pen a letter to FORD UK, outlining our issues. all those who want to sign it can and we'll send it on to them and send a copy to all the Automags.

I'm so close to selling my spots its not even funny any more.

I ordered my car late, so I'm going to hold off a little longer before I start threatening to get rid of my order slot - but if I do, BMW are willing to give me a brand new 340i MSport (replacement for the 335i) for ÂŁ237 a month, nearly ÂŁ100 less than the Pony.

I've just got a cob on about the whole process. I used to have a 62 plate SLK 350, i can get the SLK 55 for the same money now......so tempted!

Must not lose all faith in the pony!!!

This forum has been the best and worst thing i've done during the whole Mustang buying experience. On the plus side I know more about the car I haven't got yet than i've ever known about cars that have come and gone. Not so good however is that the sharing of information has brought into stark focus that no one knows or will tell us whats going on. That breeds suspicion and distrust.

I was told when i placed my order that I could expect delivery around the turn of the year or into next. Had it not been for forum membership I'd probably have gone away and forgotten about it, maybe emailing the dealer every other month, but with nothing to compare the information he was feeding me with.

At present Ford have not failed to deliver anything to me on time so I really should have no complaints...a bit of info would be nice however.

To be honest, I'm not surprised anymore. If you look at customer satisfaction surveys, Ford's dealer service is 26th out of 31, and is the 25th worst manufacturer out of 31.

This buying process probably would've went much smoother if, dare I say it, we were buying from a General Motors dealer. When the Gen 5 Camaro was on sale people who ordered them knew exactly what was going on and when it'd land.

But then that was LHD and so would have, most likely, just rolled off the production line along with all the US ones, so nowhere near as much logistics involved.

Actually, it was a full euro-spec Camaro with bits and bobs and things changed for our market over the USA. It would've been just as much of a logistical "nightmare."

"Because its right hand drive" is also no excuse.

I know what you mean! .... and you're right, when I ordered the estimate was 12 months delivery (which would mean Jan 16). So in that sense, yes I agree - Ford have not failed to deliver (as yet). However it's not the wait I mind at all, it's the terrible customer service and attitude shown by Ford - from the slowly eroding spec to the p:censored:ss poor communication from Ford themselves and their dealers.

But yes, Mustang6G has probably been the best and worst thing I could have done ..... but for slightly different reasons. The best because I've learnt so much about the car that I would never have found out via the dealer or Ford. The worst because it seems like every time I visit the site (especially recently) the GT350 is featured on the homepage! ..... it's torture! :hitcomputer:
