Explains why the dealers are now price gouging. I've had three quotes above the RRP on the Ford Website. One quote was $2k on top of RRP. None seem interested to talk about any deal at all. Best I got was RRP $63,250 for GT Auto with Nickle Lustre wheels and that was via leasing company. :frusty:

This is why I am so surprised that some users report they got cars below rrp. Given the wait list why bother discounting at all....

If I don't love the car there could be a race red manual gt for sale in Melbourne in January :)

I'm sure you will love it. As I'm sure I will when I eventually get one. Race Red for sure :)

Me too!

We ordered on the same day. So hopefully we get a production slot sometime soon too!

I ordered early February :( my dealer I think has a lot of orders... Either way after the viewing last night and the email today I am pumped, the wait is terrible! My wife and family are sick of hearing about this car. Even my 4 yr old has said "enough about the mustang"

has anyone heard what is happening with their contract prices seeing where the dollar is today. I imaging that many would have ordered when we had parity eg 30% variance. I am interested to know if/how Ford Aus are honouring the deals?
cheers

I'm certain the Aussie dollar was at US 77c when Ford Australia announced pricing in March. I noted it in one of our threads here.

pretty sure unless there is a clause of economic change on the back of the contract, then a signed contract is a signed contract and they cant retract the price or any of the terms on it, they can ask you to sign a new contract but so can you, you can write fair terms like if its not delivered by the due date then they will discount the price or something crazy like that, so long as they sign it and its "fair" then its legally binding.

so in summary, contracted price is what you will pay. if you sign a contract now then they do have every right to increase the price due to the exchange rate.
