Just wondering...

Did they invade the trunk space for the space saving donut? I'm guessing that we don't have the run flat version of the Pirelli P-zeroes...;)

Anything that would stop me from buying the spare kit for a non-PP ecoboost and putting it in myself?

spare = weight...performance pack = performance....weight = bad performance :)

My non PP GT didn't come with a spare either.

weight = bad mileage for window stickers and federal regulations

The spare tire is an option on all cars except for the GT PP.

The spare tire is not an option with the PF Ecoboost. Reason being is the larger tire size. The spare tire wheel well is not large enough for the 18s. Thus a pump is placed in there. Why Ford did not make the wheel well larger is unknown.

May be part of the consideration.

You would use the same spare tire regardless of the wheels you have - the overall diameter of the wheel and tire is virtually the same between the 18, 19 , and 20 inch wheels.

My understanding of the reason is there is no spare tire is more because the car is fitted with summer only tires vs it being a PP thing. As mixing tire types (all season for spare vs. summer on PP) is a big no, no - liability wise.

It's amazing how much dealers actually do not know about the product they sell. I have been in sales my whole life and am expected to be a knowledge expert in all products I sell, car salesmen not so much

In all seriousness, usually pretty close to nothing.
These guys are earning their bread and butter money selling Focuses (Foci?), Fusions, and F-150's...I'm sure they enjoy giving Mustang test drives, but most of them aren't car nuts enough to tell you the difference between a performance package and the base model other than "the cool, big black wheels" ;) But if you look at the volumes that the Mustang sells in compared to the other products mentioned, you know that we're kinda small fish at the Ford dealer...the dealer makes money off of us (probably more so when we order Shelby GT350's or GT performance packages with the premium package), but I'm sure a salesman is moving 9-10 other Ford products for every Mustang they're selling
