I wish if they just offered a gas guzzler tax, it is exempt from the CAFE fleet...

Whenever you have to pipe fake sound that's not good.
You can say that again. But, Ford did it on my GT as well with that funky looking sound tube!

I test drove the F80 M3, C63 S and Audi S3 (curiosity) and out of all of them the C63 impressed me the most, but I did not love any of them. I want to love what I drive, and feel that connection.. I am trusting I will find that in the GT350 as I have just finalized my purchase.

Hi Folks -

I just got the call that I have an allocation to order a GT350R. I'm still kinda in shock. I've had BMW M3s, M5s for about the past 14 years. Now it's time to try something else.

I currently have a 2015 M3 that I really like but I don't love it. I think I will love this car. I usually change cars pretty quickly but I really think I will hold on to this one. An instant classic I believe.

I am going to call the dealer tomorrow to hopefully go ahead and order. I'm thinking white with a black roof and black racing stripes.

This is going to be a fun process and I look forward to spending some time on this forum with you guys.

:ford:
Congrats!! Doing pretty much the same thing... BMW's to Mustangs. Go figure. My wife thinks I'm crazy going to an American car, poor build, etc. but they've come a long way so what the hell. Modification is truly on the brain. Roush exhaust , rez delete/H pipe sounds awesome. Had Borla Atak on previous 335i. Just not a V8 Mustang sound. Nothing like it...

Your build sounds great! Any other mods for this build??

Thats totally different though, in the sense the Ford is the actual resonance of the intake sound piped into the interior. While the F8X cars its an artificial "tone" that is played through the speakers.

I so want to "love" the F82, just the sound of a S65 with test pipes and a good catback sounds so incredible along with the 8 individual throttle bodies and the quickness and sharpness of the throttle just isn't matched with the S55. I know the F8X cars are beasts and quicker than the E9X cars, but it just didn't click with me.

The only car that excited me enough to sell my E92 M3 is the GT350...my lease is up in June 2016...I have time to decide.

The B302 has a intake sound tube as well. Not nearly the same as a recorded sound i.e. it's not fake lol...

I was going to call you on that BS earlier but just didn't want to cause more of a stir...this forum is already almost too much BS for me.
I also have a B302 and was disappointed about their thinking they needed to have an intake sound tube. I pulled that out as soon as I got my car. it sounds better, not worse. I'm looking for more engagement from my cars...and I don't want fabricated BS from them.

Yes, I realized that.

Suffice to say that both companies felt like they made the interiors too quiet - that's not a bad thing though. Easier to make a quiet environment (artifically) louder than a noisy environment quieter.

I do like the M4, but its not my personal "be all and end all" car. It was actually an impulse purchase as I was having trouble finding an available 911 991 GT3 I could work out a deal on.

The M4 is a very good car, but I wholeheartedly agree that the GT350 will be special.

On a sidenote, my M4 has a module to allow me to control the exhaust fully open if I want it to. It sounds good at wot and during blip downshifts...but admittedly it doesn't hold a candle to my Kooks and Borla S on the 5.0.

The stock sounds the GT350 will put out will be nothing short of epic.

I understand your thinking but imo a sound tube isn't a fabrication, although I agree its not needed. It doesn't matter on mine anyway as I run straight pipes.

On the other hand manufacturing a sound to pipe through the speakers is flat out dishonest.

Just to be clear, I'm not hating on the M4 at all. Its just the change from the S65 to the S55 seemed like a downgrade to me in the visceral department. Yes in every measurable performance test the F8X cars are phenomenal. I just love the linear pull to 8400rpm and the way the car just wants to get to redline with the S65 and not to mention the aural enjoyment of the intake roar along with the exhaust note makes every cruise such a pleasure, I never listen to my stereo...

There is only 2 cars that excite me enough to get out of my FBO E92 M3 and thats the GT350 or a 991S. Just that the 991S is just financially out of reach, not to mention the last PCar I had my wife and I actually had marital problems because of it. Lets just say she hated it...:D

I agree with you that there is a difference there.

im on the same boat, i currently have a 2012 e92 m3, and the f80 m3 just doesnt do it for me. I feel like im downgrading going to a hooked up 335 engine. If i cant get my hands on a gt350 then ill just keep my m3 for now

You will also smile when you get the bill for service as compared to the BMW, One of the things that put me off was the astronomical dealer costs, Left me feeling like I just had my pants pulled down and abused when I took the Ex wife's 7 in for a scheduled service.
