Well good news. The premium panel plugs in just fine. All the important stuff works, but the ac controls dont do everything they should. I think this will be solved once mft is installed. I am sourcing a screen right now.

Awesome! Any more specifics on the climate controls? Do the basic functions work such as fan control and temperature control?

Ha! I have plenty of ideas for it! Unfortunately programming is not my strongest area.... All of the hardware interfacing is possible! But a front end program would have to be written to tie it all together.

I can control the fans and the power, def, a/c, max a/c, and the floor-dash vent mixer, but i cant find anything that controls the hot/cold mix. The seat warm/cool lights up but doesnt appear to do anything.

On a side not, i have a line on activating the sport driving modes in a base ;) anyone have a premium auto gt they wouldnt mind being prodded a little?

I wonder if it would be possible to activate the drive modes on a V6.

It was never designed to have them but maybe the BCM/PCM still has the function because of the EB.

For the climate controls. On the 10-14 generation the drivers side temp control worked. the controls probably function as a button so you would have to click it several times before feeling a difference I think.

Anyone here with programming experience care to jump on the effort to make a solution for us base owners? :D

I have a bit of programming experience. I am looking into it once my obd2 intterface comes in.

On the v6 subject, it will be hit or miss. I know the modes change t/c and throttle response, but idk if they do more than that. It may be engine/trans specific.

I am thinking of a touchscreen interface much like the ebay one. Will not have to do any heavy lifting such as bluetooth handling or anything like that. Just an interface to control the base radio and sync. For that though you would have to be able to tap into the CAN network and have the ability to both send and receive messages. The program would have to take user input and convert that into a CAN network signal command that can be understood by the base radio. Like wise any information from the base radio and sync (such as phone call info, settings, etc) would have to be displayed by the program.

THIS is what I have been wondering. Since both other models have it, it may be already programmed but missing a few potentially simple things to make it work. For all we know its just a switch and a resistor somewhere

I am thinking it is just a programming change in the BCM/ECM that will activate it if it is there. Of course you also need that toggle to control it.

But who do we know that has any toggle switches? :D

Sat capable just means it needs to be activated in the computer. thats the kind of stuff im working on right now. Unlocking all of the features in the BCM
