i will most likely be going with yoko ice guards myself due to the fact that you can get a 245/40/19 for all 4 at 700 and some change

I used 225/55-18 Dunlap Winter Maxx last winter in the worst winter in recorded history for the Boston area. My Ecoboost Performance Package car with snow mode engaged performed flawlessly with the Dunlaps.

When I lived in NY my go to winter tire was the firestone winterforce. Worked great always used a 225 width, don't want a wide tire for the winter. Narrow is better.

This is what I have used on all my other cars, but they don't make a 19 size.... I was devastated lol

Anything but Dunlop Winter Maxx! I use them currently on my 14 GT in 18" size and they are ok even in deep snow but I've had much better Winter tires made by off brand like Coopers Arctic Claw and Hankook I-pike. Don't think those are available in 19 though.
The Dunlops get me around but have been the least favorite of mine by far.
You can't go wrong with Blizzaks but break out the wallet.

alright so it seems like the reccomended size is 225/xx/18? as id assume its easier to find 18 inch tires than 19 and cheaper. so then my next question would be what are the best cheap 225 18" rims to get?

My last car I had in NY I went with the cheapest clearance wheels from tirerack. Think they were like 400 for the set.

You consider Cooper and Hankook tires off brands?
