I am buying a base GT350, if you can call it "base". I am hoping for Bilsteins or something...No info on base suspension so far but they would have to be upgrades/different from the GT PP.
Does anybody have plans to get the base and upgrade to coilovers?
Or get the magneride and add lowering springs?
Untrue. I know plenty of folks who have lowered their ZL1 Camaro's and CTS-V's with no issues.I am buying a base GT350, if you can call it "base". I am hoping for Bilsteins or something...
I am definitely lowering it, it needs a good 1" drop.
Plus I hear you can't lower it easily with Magneride?
Yeah it's a gamble making the assumption that MagneRide will be worth the money. I'm willing to make that assumption based on the fact that Ford decided the GT350 had to have MagneRide. It's not just a GM gimmick, or a way for luxury manufacturers to get more $ for their cars; it actually does something quantifiable.I originally wanted the tech pack but now I'm thinking the base car might be too good of a deal to pass up. I'm interested to see how good the base suspension is and if the MagneRide is really worth it. I plan on lowering the car slightly as well and I hope that Ford Racing develops lowering springs that will not mess with the geometry too much for both the base and MagneRide cars.
My bet is the lower R springs are going to be a popular mod on the other MR equipped GT350's.I'm prepared to be very surprised if Ford offers lowering suspension for the GT350. I sure hope they already set it up at what they think is the best height. Otherwise what the heck are they even doing?
