3.7 Owner's MPG Report

For a Daily Driver and strict (utility), the Hyundai Accent and Kia Rio bring excellent value and the best Warrantee in the Industry. 5 Years Bumper to Bumper and 60K with an additional 10 Year/100K Power Train Warrantee. For 15K, cheap reliable transportation. Drive it 3 years and get $8600 as a Trade, can`t complain whatsoever. Now, with my 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid for my "Utility" SUV and my 2015 Mustang Convertible parked in my garage, I have a vehicle to fit all my needs and desires, lol.

Went from 2015 mirage 1.2 I3 74 hp cvt (35 mpg flooring it 52 cruising) to v6 6 speed stang. Strangely it "feels" faster from stop sign to stop sign in small streets:shrug:. Now averaging 18 mpg and having fun doing it.

Still have the Mirage. Its not a bad car.

I get average mix hwy/city 24-25mpg, if I'm playing around 21-22 mpg. I cant really complain about mpg at all.

Ok, my new v6 with 480 miles on it has got me confused in terms of mpg and capacity. I took my first short 95% hwy cruising trip the other day and got 28mpg between 70-85mph (I was happy with that). According to my GPS, it was 47 miles home from my starting point and the digital display stated I had 46 miles until empty on the dash. When I made it home it stated I still had 23 miles until empty on the dash, when based on its initial readings, I should have ran out of gas as I got to my destination. Then, when I filled up, it only took 11 gallons and with the needle on full it stated I had 266 miles until empty. Then after a fill up, my needle drops down to 3/4 of a tank by only going about 40 miles. Sound like I need something re-calibrated?

Also, when doing mostly city driving (70 city / 30 hwy), I only get about 16mpg if I drive it like a woman in a prius.

Sounds about right to me. I`m getting pretty much the same with the standard 3:15 Axle & AT, and that with the wind drag and the Convertible Top down and the A/C on reducing the oppressive heat & humidity.

100% US Spec imported to my US overseas car buying program on base here in the UK. They won't be bringing the V6 to Europe anyways, only the 4-Banger and the V8.

Did a Highway drive from Naples Fl to Tampa and back yesterday, Averaged 26.49 MPG for the whole trip 370.7 miles (Fill up tank to tank). Speeds 80-85 MPH for the entire Highway portion of the trip minus the massive truck accident at North Port yesterday bringing I-75 the highway down to one lane and to a craw @ 5 mph.

V6 Auto standard final gear ratio with mostly city driving (90%) I do just under 19.5 MPG average on a tank. My driving habits are a mix. Mostly tame driving light throttle, but i can tell you at least once a day at certainly lights I put the pedal to the metal. My right foot is terrible for mpgs. :headbonk:

I have noticed on the mpg trip computer the average MPG its always 1 mpg more that what I actually average once you calculate it in real life. I have found this to be true over every tank of gas since I started really keeping track around April of this year.:gossip:

With that kind of excellent Fuel Economy, I personally would refrain from having any Dealership in the future do any Software Updating or Re-programming that might effect those numbers. I had ordered an early production `12 Fiesta Fastback in the Spring of `11 and took Delivery in July `11. It was the first Special Order Delivery ordered with the Power Sunroof. From the day I drove that vehicle home until I traded it in 3 years later, it always got 30-32 mpg City and 40-42 mpg Highway far exceeding the EPA estimates. I never let them touch or re-program that Car either. I always assumed my Vehicle was "tweaked" for the EPA Dyno Testing and slipped through. Maybe yours is the same situation.:cheers:

My V6 manual with the 3.15 gears gets about 32 mpg setting the cruise at 65 mph. I get about 30 mpg with the cruise on 70 mph and about 28 mpg with the cruise at 75 mph. This is on flat highway with not much wind.

Driving in Texas at 65 mph? Seriously? Maybe if your caught in a typical Houston traffic jam which could occur 24/7 but on the Interstate? If your not going 80 mph +, your likely to be driven to the shoulder of the road despite the BS about TX "Driving Friendly"!

I travel with this car a lot from Dallas to Fayetteville Arkansas (325 miles) and stay within a few mph of the speed limit most of the time. Depending on the way I go the speed limits vary between 65-75 mph and there are a lot of small towns with speed traps along the way so I typically don't take many chances.
Conversely if I travel down to Houston on I-45 where the speed limit is 75 mph most of the way, I'll drive 80 - 85 mph as that is what everyone drives. By the Circuit of the Americas in Austin the speed limit is 85 mph but they will pull you over for only a couple mph over.

Yep, that's absolutely true about I-45. Hell, its pretty much the same with all the major highways in Houston. Beltway 8 you got to be going 75 - 80 mph, some days 80 - 90 mph if you don't want to get run off by everyone else. 610, I-45, and I-10 are the same too if their not locked up with traffic.
And driving in the midst of this crap daily, I'm averaging 27.1 mpg as of late.

Get there early or wait 2 hours...but the brisket is superb! But there is no speeding around here in Austin anymore...the secret is out and all the northerners and Californians are pouring in! :doh:
