Do you need any special tuning to run a 50/50 mixture?
Yeah you do, the tune needs to add more fuel when running E or E mixes. It's also a good idea to always carry a 93tune and E tune with you cuz you never know when you might need to switch back. (Like when you can't any E cuz they are out)

I've also just picked up the HPTuners VCM Suite and the nGauge. Going to start learning how the coyote ECU (PCM) works. Hope its not to complicated.

I sent out some emails out to try and get a HP tuners/E85 tune going. I am going order Sam's new intake pipe and a smaller pulley from procharger. Need more POWA!

Ive ran this in a couple cars. I hope to not need to run it in my sti which is my daily driver much longer. Cobb is working on an e85 kit that will adjust your tune accordingly based off e85 content for subarus. Wish that was happening for the stang world. I guess il be forced to use it for the gt.

I have E85 pumps 30 seconds away from me now. I'd love to make the switch eventually.

Ethanol sensors to switch timing tables and stoich? Show me an example. The flex fuel tables aren't enabled only on a few test strategies. And even then there is no need for a sensor since the vehicle strategy uses the widebands.

What power level do you think is safe on stock pump w/bap and 1000's? I'm thinking about going blower at some point.

I didnt say it worked in sync with the computer. I said its in the process for subarus for the ecu to work with the kit and adjust. I was suprised that no one has started working on that for mustangs. I hope it will some day for mustangs
the guage can be used on our cars just not with the ecu. Did you kook at the kit? It will work for any car. It will tell you the the content of whatever e85 is put in the car. So yes, there are people with coyotes and gt500s using them

Because it won't work with the Mustang or the Tricor PCM. It will tell you the ethanol content but it cannot be used as a sensor to trigger a stoich and timing change. It just accomplishes the same thing as the test tubes.

The Ford PCM's in the F150 strategy have the ability to adjust after a short learning mode from the factory widebands to average timing and stoich based on ethanol content. This is a much more efficient process as you are not relying on an external sensor that could malfunction.

All we need to have is the strategy enabled for it to work on a Mustang.

You will love it. :)

I personally run E100 (thanks to a good source)
And the only down side is that its soooooo dry being strait corn ethanol.
(and its hard to read plugs cause it burns so clean)

BUT man, can you get away with MURDER in the tuning/boost.

quick question without doing any reading.

lund sent me an e85 tune with my ngauge but recommended 47lb injectors or something.

#1 which injectors are those? can't find them under 1000 bucks via googling.

#2 if I ran like 1 tank a month MAX would I need them still? i kind of just want a few gallons of e85 for 1 glorious day at the dragstrip.

They are FRPP injectors with a part number of m-9593-lu47. Can be had from $225-$299 for a set of 8.

You will not have enough injector overhead to run E85 NA without them. It has nothing to do with how many tanks you run, it's the duty cycle overhead you will need with them.
