It's Preventive Upgrade time, from Team Beefcake I received my DSS 800hp shafts and BMR Cradle & Diff Bushings. I've got everything apart & out and ready to reinstall, each night after work. First up are some shaft pics, then cradle & bushing removal. Check out Beef's thread on shaft install it's very helpful. On the bushings there's two things that I think make the job much easier.
1st I suggest drilling a couple of holes in the rubber close to the outer shell of the bushing (drill size between 3/8-1/2) this will make it easy to put the sawzall in.
2nd Now cut all the way around riding the bushing shell with a WOOD blade, remove the bushing, now switch to a METAL blade, its easy to see how much you are cutting with the rubber gone. These two are the process I've used on hundreds of Fox Body Stangs from way back. The following pics tell the story, I did some the hard way then my memory kicked in and I did it the easier way lol.
NOTE Stay out of the BASE metal, and on the Cradle to body bushings cut towards the center, this way if you do get into the BASE metal it still has the backing of the Cradle itself. If you cut outward there's nothing left to support the bushing housing.
