I never go with cheap tires no matter what I drive. Tires are very essential to the performance of the car. If paying for expensive tires is a problem then this car is definatley not for you.

One thing I hate most about these forums is people that believe they have the right to tell others what car they should or should not buy based on the fact someone else is looking at a cheaper alternative. Just because someone might want to be more frugal with their tires and look at other options doesnt mean they shouldn't get the car or can't afford it.

It would be nice if people would post HELPFUL advice rather than throw out idiotic comments.

This is more realistic. The standard Super Sports will give an easy 20,000+ miles, even 30,000 for someone who drives slowly. Now the R's Sport Cups might not last more than a few track sessions.

I think when someone posts on a public forum, then by necessity others have the right to tell them whatever they think about it. Often it will be rude and judgemental. I ABSOLUTELY AGREE that a little kindness and constructive advice would be better for all concerned.

The reality is, this car will not be cheap to maintain!
Purchase price is one thing, but if you wish to drive it and
have it work at optimum, then you need to consider the costs of
doing so, but a walmart performance tire, will lower the performance,
so whats the point? Better off to buy a car that the whole package fits your use
and budget.

As I said its all relative...if you buy a Ferrari and do not like to pay thousands on a oil change you should not be looking at this car, likewise this car is not a normally GT Mustang. you do not go down and put $189.00 tires on it..because they are cheaper....you go buy a Mustang GT..no one is Judging anyone..its just strange to have a thread about cheaper tires are "this" Car...if you can not buy good performance tires for a true performance car...then you may be buying out of your comfort zone. JMO

Sometimes a cheap tire is not necessarily worse, and sometimes a harder tire can make a car more fun on the street.

Also, Michelins are some of the most expensive tires out there, and may or may not be any better than the competition. Therefore, unless you are in a race to get to work every morning, it might make sense to find a more affordable tire for daily driving duties.

If you're considering replacing the Michelins that come on the 350 with basically any other street tire, you're going the be disappointed. Yes, they are expensive, but that's because they're THE best ultra-high-performance streer tire you can buy.

I have Pilot Super Sports on my Bullitt and now that I've seen how much of a difference they've made, I wouldnt consider anything else.

And tread wear on them is pretty good. I'm sure they won't last as long as the Michelin Pilot AS Plus that I had before, but you won't be buying new tires every year unless youre constantly tracking the car, or laying down huge burnouts all the time.

If making your GT350 significantly worse to save a few bucks sounds like a good plan, maybe the GT350 isn't the car for you...

The Pilot Super Sport isn't that expensive and its arguably the best trackable street tire on the market in terms of its longevity, quietness, wet grip, and obviously dry grip. They are hard to beat.

yea just check out the PSS reviews on tirerack, people get 20k on them easily, sometimes even 30k. Once you feel what PSS do to a car, youll know why they are OE tires on most exotics and performance cars. Not only do they grip well, they have great road noise and ride quality.

I read these tires are only so so in the wet, other than that, amazing in the dry.
If bad in wet, I would look for a high performance tire that serves every aspect of
performance driving. Cheap won't be apart of the formula to replace tires.

If the Michelins perform decent in the wet, then that will be the replacement tire.

As I've stated before, I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my 08 Bullitt and I find them to perform really well in the wet.

We've had an extremely wet spring and summer so far in Michigan and I daily drive my car for 3 seasons, so it gets driven in rain often. Never once have I felt unnerved in the wet with the tires.

They say a good portion of the PSS compound are actually wet compound, anyways.

I just put them on the car in May, but at this point, I really wouldn't consider anything else for my car. Anything else would be a downgrade.

Not sure where you heard the PSS are only soso i n the rain since they are one of the best tires in the rain on the market, even according to TireRacks hydroplane resistance and wet grip. I don't recall a tire that can match the PSS in terms of both wet and dry grip, its usually a tradeoff.

Someone saying theyrr not good in the wet is probably someone driving at unsafe speeds in the wet.
