Under WOT, or close to it...say 16+psi pretty consistently - is it common for the boost to feel like it's coming in "waves". I don't really notice it being any less powerful, just not entirely linear. I don't notice it occurring from a dig.

You might check in with your tuner because there have been some revisions from some of them to make boosting more consistent. Also I would check my pipe clamps because boost leak is a really common issue

Yea that's when it's most noticeable. I kind of understand why it might occur, I can't imagine the turbo is able to constantly pump out that kind of psi for any period of time.

+1 on those clamps, brought it in for service the other day and had them take a look - I could only get to one of them through the top and it was showing three or four threads. Service tech said clamps were working their way loose in three other spots.

It's probably heat soak, car gets hot, pulls back so it doesn't go boom. Get a FMIC.

I'm sure alot of the sluggishness after a bit of driving is due to heatsoak, the more I read about the lousy IC - the higher up on my mod list it goes.

Nope, that's not it.
Well the only reason I said that was because prior to me having a FMIC, the boost levels were all over the place, amazing when the car first warmed up but crap after those temps starting rising. Now it's always consistent no matter what, plus my MAP tune is extremely solid so that's probably why too. :headbang:

Could it possibly be the stock BOV dumping boost pressure to keep things efficient for the stock IC?

I've been thinking about jumping ship from SCT to Cobb, will likely use MAP.

I have used the SCT, Steeda and Unleashed tunes on mine and the boost on all three rocket to 20 psi and stays there until I take my foot out of it.

MAP is great, and the AP is the icing on the cake, best tuner I've ever used and the gauges app on it is amazing, datalogging is a breeze, the launch control, the 5 map choices on the fly with your steering buttons, it's worth the $500 and if you go through them you get their free custom maps and Cobb's too.

Interesting, what's your OAR? I've seen mine peak at 23.52
