I've own high revving motor (S2000) and currently a bmw 135i.
around town the bimmer is best for its high early torque, over taking is easier than a c6 ls3.
the s2000 on the other hand was the perfect tool for a spirited driving. always liked the power surge above 6000-9000rpm. you upshift in the 135i at 6000rpm!
though my 135i is much faster than the s2000 but the excitement is more in the latter.

now giving the nature of the happy revving of the voodoo and the high torque available relatively early in the rpm range, this is going to be interesting power plant.
can't wait can't wait ``

Yeah the coyote isn't exactly a stump puller down low, but it definitely "feels" faster when you uncork it as well. You really only feel the pull down low in first, But it shines on the top end.
My Coyote only made 395/395 SAE dynojet. What does it take to be a stump puller? If it came from a pickup, does that help?

Don't get me wrong, its still a beast, but down low where some of that "seat of the pants" feeling comes from, its doesnt have as much umph as the motors in the cars it typical competes with, and for good reason since they are all 6L+ motors for the most part. It behaves exactly how it was designed (which is why I bought one)

Most people would consider "stump puller" to be 400+ tq around 3000 rpm. The 392 and LT1 are both in that realm.

The 5.2 fits the character of the GT350 perfectly, and mirrors the 65 and 66 289 well. Having owned a hot 289 let me tell you..the are not torquey down low, but you can spin them at speeds that would leave 350 puking out rods all over the track

Yup. It 'wants' you to push it. Power just keeps climbing and doesn't stop until redline. It's a very different experience and one that's very hard to describe to someone who hasn't ever experienced it.

And I wish people would stop comparing the Boss 302 to this car. It made maybe 25hp more than the base 5.0 and the GT350 will be a completely different experience.
I drove a S2000 for a little while at one point and I think the New GT350 is going to drive just like it, 1st gear will be run to redline, shift back to around 5800 RPM back to redline.... shift back to around 6000 RPM, back to redline...
at that point your doing around 115MPH. Sounds like a hell of alot of fun to me.

In the same gear at the same speed the GT350 will be spinning higher RPM's than most of it's competitors. So perhaps it won't have as much torque at equal RPM's as the larger displacement engines as competitor engines, it will still be able to pull just as hard thanks to it's more aggressive gearing.

Yeah that's the appeal of the gt350. I currently drive a s2000 and that's the reason I'm so fascinated with ford coming out with a track focused high revving car, just like the s2000. The torque jump comes much earlier at 3k so it won't be a slouch around town when compared to the s2000.

Having more than double the HP and torque isnt going to hurt either, rest assured it won't be a slouch, anywhere:)

Holy revs Batman. Looks like I'm never gonna get above 2nd gear!

If ford is using ratios close to those on tremecs website for 576nm input (425ft-lbs), then yes that is about right, 2nd gear will run out around 81mph...3rd at a 112mph.

The R will be a few MPH less in each gear due to the smaller tires.

Yeah, the engine could use more gear (if you are a fast shifter).

It should have at least 4.11 rear ratio to give more multiplication of the engine torque.
