Hey Guys,

So was driving home from work today (car has 400 miles on it so far) and all of the sudden it felt really slow, so I checked the boost gauge and it was reading only 5 pounds of boost in every gear.. so I got home and plugged it into my code reader and produced 2 codes, one fore Turbocharger overboost condition, and the other one for cylinder misfire. below are the pictures of the reader... Can anyone help me shed some light on this???

oh BTW, the car is BONE STOCK at the moment.

Kinda bummed that i have only had the car a week and it has already produced a potential issue.... I wanted to take it to livernois motorsports and get that nice tune but now I'm very skeptical especially with warranty issues...

Thanks in advance guys!

What were you doing when it threw the code? Where you flooring it in a high gear like 5th or 6th at very low MPH? What about going up hill and hammering it down?

From that scan I really don't think this has anything to do with it but many of the EBs went out with the charge pipes loose. I'm not saying it's related but you might want to check the clamps anyway. Many were reporting the problem right around that mileage.

Did you let it cool and take it back out? Still doing it? It is tuned? Mods?
There were a few posts about checking the spark plug gaps. Even on new cars many plugs were incorrectly gapped. Seems like a simple check. Or have the dealer check it.

thanks for the responses so far guys!! I went through first and second with a nice rip and then drove normal. I was on a highway and was not traveling up hill. The car is currently stock with no tunes yet..... lol... I called my dealer and spoke with the service manager and he mentioned the charge pipe. I checked it and all was well. Then i took it for another drive and the car was boosting properly and the power was back. Im just concerned a little about the fact that it happened. has anyone else had an issue like this?

Sounds like it went into a limp mode. You may have hit the over boost protection, which pulls power way back to protect the engine. Once you parked the car and turned it off, the ECM reset and restored the normal operating parameters. If it becomes a regular incident, definitely time for a trip to the dealership for a checkup.

I actually took the car in today so that It was put on the books that I had the issue, plus my shaker sub in the back was squeaking like crazy and driving me nuts so i figured I would get that fixed as well. My concern is that I really wanted to go the livernois route, but I don't feel safe yet after this just in case i run into a warranty issue.

What do you guys think?

Had this happen to me back in March. Ended up being a inter cooler piping came off. Check all your pipes considering your car is new. Start with turbo side piping. Sometimes it may not look off but is only holding on by a tread

I'd recommend that you work with your dealer while the car is still stock. Get the issue sorted out before you start modding it.

I would say to wait until you think MAP is a better choice to tune your car :headbang:

Thanks for the tip man! I'll make sure to check out the pipes, happened to me on my supra a lot but I was making a lot more boost

Yea that was my main reason to take it in, as much as the mod bug is biting I certainly don't want to rush, lose patients, and mess something up

Not sure what you mean man, can you explain?

It was a joke of me saying to go with MAP instead of Livernois for tuning.
Oh man, I hate to be a noob but what is MAP? A tuning company? If so I'm interested in checking it out.

I'm iust now coming back to the Mustang scene so I'm a little out of touch for what's out there

Well to my knowledge this is their first go at a Mustang because it's a turbo application but they have amazing tunes, and tons of parts for the EB. Check out some of the threads the have of here, they even have a turbo upgrade!

But yes they are a tuning company per se.

Its not MAPs first go around with Mustangs, they actually make a TT kit for the 11-14 5.0s.
