I have the SW H-pipe catback and have drone between about 1900-2100 RPM with my 355 gears. I put Fatmax in the trunk and that helped a bit, but I'd still like to get it a little more quiet and eliminate the drone. Do you guys think this solution would help?

If it works with the Gibson system, I don't see why it couldn't help yours too.

Sorry Supa. For some reason I thought you were the OP. Anyway, yeah hopefully we'll see how it comes out. I love my MBRP race exhaust be the drone is horrible. I may give these a shot and see what happens.
Headers and no cats for a drone reduction.

Subscribing for later.

Got my GT a few days ago with Gibson already on there and while I like the sound especially WOT, it does drone it's ass off in a couple of spots. Might give this a try soon. Thanks

I did this on mine a little while back. It did not elimanate drone in my case. Kooks headers with high flow cats and gibson exhaust. Welded them in the only place they'd fit. After X and before the axle. It did change the exhaust note a bit, less rasp and toned down the noise level a tad. Probably helped with drone but definitely did not eliminate. I never have drone becuase my car is a manual and I must have learned to drive around it, but its still there.

I thought about doing this with those same race bullets.. but I haven't yet. I have the MBRP Race, and was planning on installing LT's with no cats soon. I don't mind the drone at hwy speeds in 6th between 1600 and 2k rpm's but my wife HATES it. Does anyone know if the TOTAL overall length of these bullets is 16.5" and if not then what is the OVERALL length of them? also what about the OD in the middle where is is obviously a larger OD then the 3" in and 3" out?

Thanks for the helpful info. I will try to do this because the Magnaflow competition catback is loud, crazy loud! Drone in 6th gear is ugly at 2k rpm. I can adjust sound with a down shift but no fun on long hauls not being able to speak with the passenger. What was the cost of the parts?

I did the same Dynomax Race Bullets installed in same location, and I still have done at certain rpms. I just try to stay out of those rpms.
I should also note that I have long tube headers which probably makes it worse. The Race Bullets did reduce the wrasp and quited down the system a bit. Was just on much with headers to this exhaust.

After driving around a few months now I can say now that the drone is there but not nearly as load, far more manageable for daily driving especially with headers, cold start ups are still load but once warmed up its fine, easy on the throttle and its got a good tone but mash on the gas and its sounds less raspy but load as all hell, but still sounds great.

I have recently ordered an h pipe to go in place of the x pipe that came with this system. Pretty hyped to hear the tone difference on the Gibson exhaust and longtube catless headers. The system had a little rasp before, but since going headers, it has only gotten worse. I have no issues with drone on the system since i went with headers, btw, and all this time i was worried they'd make the drone worse. I'll update once the h pipe is installed to let you guys know how it sounds in case you would like to make the swap also.

What H pipe did you order? I haven't found any that are 3" that match the Gibson mount points...unless you got a custom one made. Definitely interested in hearing your setup after that. I can't deal with the rattle can sound from inside the cabin anymore, so I'm probably going resonators.
