In a desperate attempt in closing the trunk on my freshly washed 'stang without leaving giant paw prints, I grabbed the only thing I could...the chrome emblem on the rear deck lid. Grabbed top edge of emblem with finger tips.

Nice idea. I do with they would have put a handle on the inside of the trunk lid. My wife's Passau has this and it makes it easy to close the trunk. I did this with my 08 GT by grabbing inside the metal frame of the trunk, but of course the 15 has the nice carpet.

I use my open palm on the crease between the horizontal and vertical section of the trunk to close it. No smear on the trunk.

i use my forearm on the top of the trunk where my racing stripes are. I also often have a microfiber on me and I use that. Great idea on using the emblem.

Since my emblem is dipped it is perfect for shutting the trunk, no smudges on the chrome or rear deck.

I just use the bottom of my tshirt in my hand and the bottom lip of the lid, works great. Or I use my hand on the bottom edge, then use my shirt to wipe it off right away! Lol drives me nuts too

I no longer have an emblem on the back, but I do have stripes. I just use the side of my hand on one of the stripes to close it, no smears.

This doesn't irritate me near as much as the fingerprints all over the glass from people closing the doors. Man, that looks bad. I always close the door by the side of the door, not the glass. I finally got my wife to the same. But trying to get others to follow suit is difficult without sounding "anal" about it. So I just decided to let it slide, and clean it later. Micro fiber towel does great, even if it's dry.

Same with grabbing the spoiler or top of the trunk. Just use your palm or last joints of your fingers (not the fingertips). But remember that you can't keep the car mint and use it!
