Warning this might be a bit of a read, so if you want to skip it I've summarized in bullet points at the bottom.

Picked up the car last Monday and been driving it around as much as I humanly can for the past week now. It's a base GT with the only options being the spoiler delete and spare tire.
Basically I'm blown away by the power, features this car has, and the looks! Obviously that motor is unreal, such an awesome experience driving it. Power everywhere. I've got the 3.31's and even so this thing pulls hard in every gear while having fantastic cruising ability afforded by the longer gears. I have to mention that the gas mileage is pretty good too - I've been behaving and not putting my foot down too much ;) and it's slowly creeping up and getting better!

The interior features are fantastic and I'm impressed overall with the content. The base seats are very comfortable and have the perfect amount of bolstering for my figure (6'2" - 180lbs) with lots of adjustability, and I even fit in the back seats lol - although I have to slouch slightly for headroom.

I'm even liking the base stereo. I've played with the EQ a bit and have it set at a sweet spot where it sounds good. At lower volume it lacks a bit of bass (not a big deal cause the motor fills that void :headbang:) but once I turn it up it fills in quite nicely and it's clear - no complaints there at all.

All in all I'm enjoying every second in it! What an awesome car!

Pros:

  • Power!
  • Effortless cruising
  • Good content with the base model
  • Very supportive and adjustable seats
  • Decent base stereo
Cons:

  • Not being able to drive it due to work, sleep, etc... haha
It's great to see other owners out and about too! Every time I see another mustang (older or newer) I have this inner urge to give the thumbs up! Epic cars.

Awesome! I get my base GT on Friday, I will have the 3.55 gears, and some options I didn't really want, but that's what they had that fit what I wanted/needed since they were out of allocations. I can't wait. Sounds like I am going to have a blast! ;)

Oh you will! Congrats on the purchase
I had to factory order mine since the dealer had premiums and/or PP's on the lot. All I wanted was the V8 and a stick haha so I had to wait. Definitely worth it though.

I picked up mine on saturday at noon... I have 220 miles on it now (got it with 4)

Now I know what everyone is talking about when they say "thud" in the back and notchy transmission.

Other than that the car is a beast and fun as hell to drive

Congrats!

Tons of fun and it's def a beast. I honestly have to pry my self out of it how much I enjoy driving it haha.

I feel the thud too although I remember driving a few M3's (E36 and E46) that exhibited the same thud when shifting gears. I do like that mechanical feeling it gives.

No issues, great initial perceptions

Picked up my new '15 the other day, so not many miles yet. (GT Prem, vert, m/t, loaded to the gills). Fit and finish is great, all around. Interior is quality and seats comfy and well suited. No issues with the tranny or any strange noises, etc.
I've been through a load of exotics and high end iron over the years (F430, Maser, FORD GT, AM's, Vette's, a couple of R8's, many Porsche's and BMW's, etc) and this 'stang, while a much different price point and level of automobile, holds its own, given what it is.
So far, I'm pleased with this new pony in the stable. FORD seems to have done a great job on this new model.

I must have gotten lucky, no thud whatsoever in my Vert GT Premium. Though maybe it is just so long since I have had a MT that I do not know any better.

Great choice with the 3.55's; they're the optimal street gear for the mt82(imo) and definitely make a difference over the base gear.

I've noticed that most of the "thud" and "clunk" noises are coming from owners with PP. If your car doesn't have the PP option, that might be why you're not experiencing it. If you google "mustang torsen thud" without the quotes you'll see a lot of info about it.

Possible, mine seems to shift quite smoothly and still has plenty of power and awesomeness for my daily needs!
