Hey, whats up everyone?

As the title says, my cousin is looking for a new, cheap affordable car that offers lots of room for his camera equipment and stuff.

Currently, he drives a '03 Camry, not sure the condition but it's getting there. He's pretty easy in what he's looking for; something reliable and cheap, doesn't need fancy electronics and uses his phone if anything for navi, just does require SiriusXM.

So far, I'm thinking Focus, but if anyone has anything else they can recommend, feel free to mention it.

Thanks guys

I mentioned that too.

He's hardly a car guy, so when I mentioned focus, he remembered how they were like 10-15 years ago.

Yeah, plenty of solid cars out there. MS3 was alotta fun btw, can't wait to see how the new one will be once they start developing it

There are a lot of good options right now, the Fiesta, Focus, Mazda3, VW Golf, Hyundai Veloster. Really just depends on what options you're looking for.

If he likes a fun car the cheapest fun car on the market is a Fiesta ST which you can get a good deal on. 500 Abarths are really cheap but that may be too small.

If he just needs transportation a base Focus or Impreza is a great option. The Subaru will hold its value much better as well but may cost more initially (fewer incentives).

Abarth is a cool little car. I'm 6'3" and fit fine in one. Not a ton of room behind the front seats however. Oh, and they seem to have miserable reliabilty.

Mazda, Focus, or Fiesta.

He doesn't drive stick, otherwise I'd point him towards those cars, although the Abarth is now auto. Probably lean towards the others though

My cousin Franco was the Line Producer for the movie btw

Yeah, CAMERA stuff, he even said where as he doesn't care for a car, he wants to get a $55g camera

I would recommend he really look into a Veloster then. The size and space is great and comes with a dual clutch auto, which is typically more enjoyable than a regular auto. Gas mileage is good and you can't beat the warranty.

I bought a 2015 Focus since I now have a very long commute each day.

I got an SE with the SE sport package, which adds some tasteful bodywork, spoiler, upgraded 17 inch wheels, and paddle shifters for the dct.

I have the sedan, but you can get the package on the hatch as well. No frills, has sport cloth bucket seats, but also has some decent featured like synch and Bluetooth connectivity and lcd display between the tach and speedo.

I'm getting about 32 mpg in mostly city driving. The car is very nimble and the steering is excellent. Chassis is very composed. Feels very European.

I do have some minor issues. The clutch on the dct does chatter a bit at low speeds and can occasionally lag behind your input on the accelerator. Also the glove box does not have a lock which annoys the hell out of me.

Otherwise I think it's a pretty solid daily driver.
